Professor Mandrell is hilarious. At first I got a little put off that a non-native speaker was teaching a high level class, but I got over it pretty quickly & enjoyed the level of discussion he brought to class! He also bakes us cookies. Win. He is a really hard grader but is super approachable so go talk to him about it!

He is very unclear about his expectations for papers and assignments and grades hard. Also, he is an extremely difficult grader in terms of Spanish, although he is not a native speaker himself. Class discussions were interesting, though.

Dr. Mandrell is a good instructor but he is quite disorganize. His grading is far but his expectations are unclear. The readings itself are interesting but at times dry however he does manage to engage the class in the day's readings. Overall, Mandrell is a good instructor who is approachable. However, he is simply unorganized!
