This was the WORST class I have taken! He cares more about his research than about teaching. He should READ the textbook and follow some of the tips on how to be a good teacher. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS ESPECIALLY if you plan on going into education. He makes his exams so half of the class fails, he does scale it, but it dosn't look like a bell curve.

By far one of the worst classes ever. I think he does try to answer people's questions and joke to keep the students interested, however he tests on material never discussed, and most of it is strict memoriazation. Puts his notes online, but that stuff isn't really usually on the exams!

DO NOT TAKE IT W/ ROYER. People say he grades on a curve- but that curve DOESN'T COME CLOSE in making up for the difficulty on the tests. Random nonsense multiple choice questions along with essays that have to be perfect. Tests are not comprised of valuable take away knowledge- more memorization. He's teahcing future teachers to teahch LMAO!!

His lectures are on the dry side. He does drop ina few jokes here and there and he does give ALOT of example. I think the exams are AWFUL. I really do not think they are fair. And I did not learn anything from the exams.

The University should be embarassed to have this man teaching future teachers. He is the worst instructor I have EVER had. His lectures are boring and disorganized, his tests do not convey course understand but instead mere memorization. He makes no attempt to ensure student mastery. BAD CLASS!

DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH THIS GUY! The only reason he teaches is to continue his research. He was the worst teacher I have ever had. Even the TA's boyfriend failed.

One of the most boring classes. A class involving education and psychology should be fun. Not with this guy. Avoid him if you can.

The tests are difficult (half of it is essay) but he grades on a curve so your score rockets. I did well in the class. I did not enjoy the dry lectures. It's ironic that he is teching us on how to teach effectively and he can't.

I think he is a great Prof., but his tests are freakin' impossible. He does grade on a curve though, which is absolutely mandatory to do well. Lectures tend to be on hte dry side, but his personal anecdotes are entertaining and topical.

REALLY boring. Lectures never inspired me or held my attention - just reads his notes and talks about himself a lot. Tests are nearly impossible, book is not a good read. I attended every lecture, did my homework but unforutatly don't feel I learned much.

This guy sucks-- he just reads the notes to the class. Then, when it's time for the test, it is on the most insignificant, obscure facts in the book and the notes (so you have to memorize 200 pages of text AND all the notes for each test).
