I would take Schorr every semester if possible! He genuinely knows the subject and keeps the discussions interesting. Attendance is key but the class time is spent talking as a class about the reading, great for opening up understanding. I got an A and didn't find it very difficult.

Schorr is goofy and has fun in class. You have to go to class I didn't always read because there is a ton of it and It can get overwhelming, but seriously, if you aren't prepared for class, read a wikipedia synopsis and sit through the lecture (though not recommended!). Two tests- generous grader. Brief presentation and 5 page paper at the end.

Very interesting class, probably my favorite my french class. Professor likes to interact with students and makes the class very interesting. Read the book and attend class at least every two weeks and you should be good to go

funny, friendly, awesome. if you took 3 years of french in HS and think you should take frenc100b to refresh.. DON'T. this class is easier than 100b and way better. he's really laidback and his tests are easy as long as you understand the stories and put in effort. use wordreference.com to help you with essays. strongly recommend!

Great Professor, If you are worried about taking French take his class! He says not to use it but Google Translator will be a big help with the readings. Four tests on the reading, none of them are accumulative. Go to office hours! I hadn't taken French in a 1 year, hardly remembered anything and still got an A.

Probably my favorite professor i have had at state thus far. Actually makes lectures interesting and engaging. I can barely speak french and i ended up with an A- in the class because as long as you show up and make an effort, he will give you a good grade. Highly recommended! love this guy!

Awesome teacher! Class was super easy as long as you did the readings. If you're struggling in French, you might have a hard time, but it's all pretty straight forward if you've kept up in your previous courses. My one complaint is that he doesn't speak in French very often, even though he knows his stuff very well.

Great class! He is hilarious. Very helpful and doesnt expect you to know everything. You do need to read the assigned readings to do good on the tests. Know the main idea of each story then you will do great. 4 mini compositions throughout the semester. Great class !

He's sweet as pie, funny as hell! If you're worried about the 201 class, DEFINITELY take it with him, you'll get an A as long as you show up and raise your hand occasionally. He let us out early a lot, and wasn't super strict about keeping up with the readings. Would take class with again!

Awsome professor!! Fun class, very easy, well he grades easy. Expects you to read, but if you at least know what is going on, you should be fine. Do not have to go to class everytime. Tests are ok, he'll give you credit for guessing and writing something. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Schorr is the best french teacher in the department. He is extremely funny and helpful. He wants you to pass and learn. I took him for 305B and 422. Next fall I am taking 305A. He made the topic interesting and incorporated humor! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Prof Schorr was the best teacher that I have ever had. He wasn't an EASY A but he makes learning fun and I enjoyed going to class. I learned a LOT! He is a good person and a very funny guy. There was 5 tests, a presentation on a francophone area, and two short papers. I highly HIGHLY recommend him. I wish he taught EVERY class.

awsome professor!! for his lit class there is a lot of reading duh! as long as you read and get the main idea you'll do fine on tests. his history class is also easy, lot of vocab, but he repeats himself a lot. confusing at times cuz he goes back and forth with topics. great personality, funny, BIG FLIRT...love the guy
