A lot of exams, doesn't tell you what you got right or wrong on multiple choice questions. Let's you have a page for a cheat sheet for the exams but complains not to copy and paste his slides. Doesn't help explain what to study, he says to see what's on his slides and in the book but still has questions that never come up in the book.

This class is not an easy A, but also not the hardest class you'll ever take. He uses the entire class time to lecture which made it pretty boring, especially as a non major. He says the tests are based off the notes but also very much off the textbook so definitely follow that too. He is a really great and understanding guy though.

Stemp is a very intelligent man, but prepared to be bored to death in this class. Lectures make up the entire class, and its hard to stay awake. Tests are very hard and assignments unclear.

Stemp's Anthropology of Violence class was one of my favorites. He lectures fluently, incessantly and proficiently. He's a very intelligent professor who doesn't dumb things down for his students and who shows us respect by expecting and demanding our best effort. Wonderful.

One of my favorite professors ever. He is demanding but fair. If you show up and do the work you will learn tons. You slack and you're in trouble. He gives you a syllabus and sticks to it. His lectures are illuminating and the texts he chooses are fantastic. I would highly recommend him.

wicked boring class. the topics are relatively interesting, but he doesn't really have much of a personality, so the lectures are pretty boring.

One of the best professors I ever had. He is harder than average, but you learn so much that you didn't even realize you absorbed. He is genius level intelligent, so it takes some getting used to, but if I could go back and take more of his classes I would.

Such interesting topics covered but he made it really dry. Never a video or any other type of media that is available. Spent a lot of time on uninteresting things within the topics- like rocks...Really nice man. Tests are based almost completely on notes- hard grader on the open ended questions

Professor Stemp is a very smart professor really knows his stuff. He uses good examples to explain material. Tests are a little hard but with studying and keeping up on chapters it shouldn't be a problem. Sometimes he can be boring but if you are interested in the material class will be intreresting
