Comment:
Not sure why he has such a bad rep on here. I'm pretty critical, and I don't believe Theroux is all that bad. He is nice and has a lot of experience in entrepreneurship. Long case studies each week, and he grades tough, but if you do them you will pass. He remembers faces so it's best to come to class. 90% of the classes were guest speakers haha.

Terrible professor, doesn't belong in a classroom - not an HBS classroom, Isenberg classroom, Bridgewater State classroom, nowhere. He should just retire immediately and stop destroying the educational experience of students who actually want to learn.

Theroux is interesting but was a good prof for 241. The class overall was a bit of a joke but I learned quite a few things being it was my first exposure to a MGMT class. v easy 3 credits.

This is the guy who still fantasizes about his days back at Harvard Business School (definitely an admissions mistake, no idea how HE got in) and tries to replicate their case study method in terrible fashion. Classes unstructured and incoherent. Make no mistake - He would NEVER be permitted to instruct a real Harvard Business School class.

Theroux is an interesting guy. in Man 343 we read a Harvard Business Review case every week and wrote a paper analyzing it. Then on the second class of the week a guest entrepreneur speaker came in to talk to us. Usually Isenberg alumni. Great source for networking. Easy class, learned many intangible things from speakers success and failures.

Probably the worst class I have ever taken, and that is saying a lot. This class is based entirely on a group project that is completely hypothetical. You will learn nothing surrounding entrepreneurship, but don't worry, you'll get to hear all about how James Thereox's experience at Harvard business school makes him the awful person he is.

Class is very theoretical and you are expected to complete assignments without being taught the material. I would advise not taking this class.

I loved all classes i took before and see entrepreneurship as my ultimate career goal. Yet this professor managed the impossible and raised disgust in me for the class. The directions are unclear, no help/feedback during the process, he is literally useless and very arrogant when asked for help. Grades are absolutely random. Worst proff ever.

It is an entrepreneurship course, more like small business consulting. I definitely got some real-world experience. But he wasn't really helpful.

Had him for MAN 301 and then again in SCH-MGT 497. His teaching style is better suited for upperclassmen. Very conceptual and applied. Exams are easy. Do your case studies!

I thought his module was interesting. His exam however was pretty hard and kind of a guessing game as you had to read articles and make assumptions on what the right answer was.

His module...was horrible. Really cocky guy. Not only is he unclear about what you have to know for the exam, but he gives you articles that you have never read and expects you to make the "right" assumption about each one. I did pretty bad on his exam and his area of the final, which pushed my grade down. Really bad. Do the extra credits!

He is very full of himself and his exam is extremely subjective. So you can study really hard and still do poorly, but he scales it which helps.

He taught the Foundations of Business management section, which I thought was the best two weeks of school I have EVER had. He did a great job guiding our decisions although a lot of it was just the use of "capsim". It was really sweet.

Very bad professor. Everyone bombs his tests. I had A's on the first two- and got a C with RFC's on this one. People say if you know the first 30 pages in the text book for the test you'll be fine- but the questions on the articles he gives you are so hard, although it is like the practice test. Pass in RFC's- but class is a waste of time.

J.T. isn't as bad as people make him seem. I've had plenty of worse professors. He can be boring but he lets you out 15 minutes early every class. Test is a lot like the practice tests.
