Jan made school enjoyable for me for the first time in a while. Her lectures are interesting, shes never dry with the content, and she doesnt babble on. I highly recommend her.

Comment:

Prof Kainer was really nice and funny especially her examples. However, she doesn't post anything on Moodle so you have to go to class. Lots of readings but they were interesting. The ta's are funny, nice and helpful for exams and essay. You should definitely take this course!

Jan was overall, a great professor. The things I could criticize was her lectures were incredibly monotone and repetitive. The first three weeks were the same lesson. Her slides were also disorganized and her exam reviews were bad. HOWEVER, everything you need to do well is in lecture. I gave up on readings because she summarizes very well.

I found her to be a bit disorganized. She doesn't post lecture slides and her grading seems to be inconsistent. She isn't clear about what she expects. Regardless, the course is still pretty easy.

Prof Jan is amazing! She really cares about students & wants them to do well. She speaks fast, so I would suggest recording her lectures just in case you miss out on something. Her slides are not detailed & are not intended to cover lecture material, so LISTEN to her. My TA was Josie, she was a really sweet, fun person and a fair marker too.

Jan is amazing. I've taken two courses with her and would definitely take more in the future. Her lectures are clear, straight-forward and very interesting. She is very easy-going and flexible to student needs. The readings are long and she doesnt post slides. If you do the readings, you'll have no trouble writing the essays and exams. Talks fast.

An engaging, ironic professor who summarizes readings so that during exam period all you have to do is review lecture notes. Uses anecdotes to simplify and explore concepts. Provides succinct assignment instructions. Course material is empowering and allows for easy A+.

Professor Kainer is an amazing professor! She is very clear and concise and discussed interesting topics. She is a fair marker, and her tests and essay are very straight forward. Keep up with the readings and get her as your TA!! Easy A!!

BEST PROFF EVER!! Very insightful and has a lot of knowledge behind her. Very down to earth and easy to talk to when you are having difficulty with assignments. Lectures from the textbook/course kit. I would recommend taking classes with her to any and every student.

I was pleasently surprised by her. While it is a feminist course, she doesn't always come across feminist and you dont need to be female to take her class, at least the way she did it this year. Yes the topics are feminist, but she presents it is a fair, neutral way. Only issues is she was always late and in boring lectuers would talk too fast...

Comment:

Very engaging and upbeat professor. Her consistenly positive attitude made coming to class a bonus. A very dedicated feminist. You will find the subject of feminism injected into almost every subject matter. This makes her lectures rather overtly biased, but still interesting.
