The gender class is amazing and eye opening, but as a professor all she does is play favorites. If you do not agree with her agenda, yore in for some really tough grading and a very unprofessional attitude toward you if you try to set up a meeting with her outside of class. Objective tests I always did very well on, but she gave me Cs on my papers.

Radical Feminist. She expects too much. Grades hard on papers. Not friendly - very distant personality. Somewhat cold. Lives and breathes feminism. Typical feminist - no kids - married after 20 years of living together. It's all about me - and all the other women in the world! And I am a woman writing this. I feel bad for her husband!!

Must read chapter before every class. Hard quiz on every chapter almost every day. Tests are fine as long as you study (tests are on 9 chapters each). Posts notes on Angel (study from them, not book for tests). Extreme feminist and liberal, and lets you know. Unfair bias towards girls (has marked things wrong for me but not for girls).

Took her once for Comm Theory and did mediocre. Took her again for PR Writing and did well because I worked my butt off. If you do EVERY assignment on time and thoroughly she will love you but if you aren't serious about being a Communication major, you will regret taking her class. Will seem very rude at first but give her a chance, she's great.

Jan is a very nice professor but it feels as though she only helps those at her discretion, dont try to be her friend. Mandates class discussion so read and be prepared to chat. Do exactly as she says in order to receive an A. Great professor to learn from, teaches one to become a very good communicator and professional. Take her if you can.

Kelly presents the material in her classes with interesting lectures and incorporates group participation to illustrate studies. Both classes were fast moving and well worth taking. She teaches the gender and comm class from a feminist point of view, but welcomes varying opinions from students. Its a very good take if you enjoy debating issues.

Many will try to stigmatize Prof. Kelly for her strong feminism, unfortunately for them, they didn't pay attention long enough to learn what feminism really is. Great teacher, you'll get what you earn in class and come ut of it with different and much more objective views.

if u dont participate she hates you. YOU HAVE TO READ OR YOU WILL FAIL. use the outline the books provides online for some help. this class takes alot of effort and work. the class itself is interesting but her belittling attitude makes the class awful.

She is one of the most intellegent women I have ever met. Her class is not easy, but if you do your work and work hard it will be all right. I learned so much in her class, and she really knows what she is talking about. If you want a good professor and you can hadle the work take her.

I've never met a teacher who just did not care at all for her students. She barely even teaches and just talks about how great she is the whole time. Its really unfair that the university leaves you no choice but to take her. She doesn't even know half of the students names in her class of 25.
