DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! when you ask him a question, he doesn't answer it. he just repeats or rewords what he previously said but makes it more confusing. my class had to argue with him to help us understand certain concepts.

Probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had. If you are like me, and do not know anything about bytes and chips, then you're totally NOT going to enjoy it. I found myself having to teach myself everything! It was terrible- at all costs do not take this professor.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. The class has a website project which takes about an hour total, a 5 minute presentation on whatever you want and the final. Complete everything satisfactorily, and you get an A. And he's funny. His lectures weren't mandatory, but they were fun to attend.

Class was pointless to attend because he did not teach anything. He did not follow what should be taught in the Comp Lit Course so we did not know the information for the final. There were 4 projects but he gave no instruction on them. He was a really bad teacher and his class was annoying. There are way better teachers then him. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

He does not teach half of the material that will be on the final. There are no guidelines for projects, just to "impress him". No tests, no quizzes, but your grade comes from building your own website, a presentation, and the final. I feel like I have learned nothing from his class and would not take him again.

Had him for 134 and Comp. Forensics (284 now 204 I believe), he's a great guy, always willing to help, ask questions and do yourselves a favor, only frustrating thing is trying to find out what's on your tests, that's like pulling teeth. Other than that awesome guy.

GREAT! Much easier than other comp sci 1 teacher. Really helpfull, programs are a breeze with the info he gives you (practically writes them for you). If you finish ur program ahead of time (read the book to do it) u dont have to go to class till after the thing is do, class isn't mandatory. Really funny random conversations.

GREAT teacher. 100x better than Jackowitz. I was horrible with computers.. Explains everything from the very beginning. Spends sufficient time on background stuff for peopel with no experience. Gives lots of help with assignements and a fair amount of time to do it. Midterm and final are very fair, and he grades them easy. DEFINITELY Take him!

Great teacher with unique sense of humor. He'll spend a lot of time on a concept you're interested in learning, along with stuff he thinks you need to know. No book required. Negatives: VERY UNCLEAR what would be on tests, and it was like pulling teeth to get him to even give hints. Study notes and print out slides and you will do well.

Plishka is awful!! I dreaded his class every MWF. He teaches nothing and expects you to know the "Java" language yourself. He completely turned me off Computer Science. He does grade easy which is a small plus but the guy should not be labeled as a "teacher". DO NOT TAKE

Biggest waste of time class ever. Don't bother with the $70 book, we never used it in class once, and the buyback was for $7.00 (save your money) 1/2 the semester we learned from other's PowerPoints. Pointless class that needs work...
