Comment:

This professor is tough. She has a lot of assignments due every week. If you take a few hours once a week to get everything done for that week it's manageable. I don't recommend taking this class if you have a lot on your plate. The assignments are challenging and I've learned a lot, she's not clear about some things, it's frustrating.

Comment:

Dr. Dominik has a high hopes for her students. I can see how she may be mistaken for rudeness, but I KNOW she cares a lot about helping students progress and achieve. She was very responsive and helpful in emails. Although it was an online class I didn't feel disconnected. The course was challenging, but I loved how it helped me improve my writing.

While Dr. Dominik has received a lot of harsh reviews, I definitely see where they're coming from. She exchanged hostile private messages with me and her announcements were condescending at the start of the semester. HOWEVER, towards the end of the semester, she was helpful, understanding, and kind. She expects a lot, but only wants you to improve.

She is a great, well-respected professor. Although I must say that if you have a lot on your plate, don't take her course. Her course requires a lot of reading and analyzing. If you are an average writer, she can help you improve. If you are a good writer, she can help you become a better writer. She is well experienced and passionate.

She means well. This is a challenging class for most, I'm sure. Whatever you do, she will ask for more. There is no maintaining the status quo in this class. No matter what you do, it won't be enough. Not because the work is bad, but because her goal is to have every student improve from the point they started. Be prepared to spend a lot of time.

I had a terrible experience in her class! She gives assignments with unclear directions and marks you down for the smallest things. After speaking with her, it was apparent she thought very highly of herself. She talks down to you and acts like she has all the answers to everything! Never taking her class again.

She was not clear on certain explanations and assignments. She just assumes that you know how to do everything. She makes you feel like you are beneath her, makes you feel very dumb. I worked hard in this class and she never liked any work i turned in and i worked very hard.

I learned more from her on how to be a good writer than any other teacher, ever. She makes you work for it but I learned so much from her. She will give you great feedback on how to improve. If you want to just sit back and not do any work then don't take this class. If you want to learn how to be a great writer then this is the class for you.

Very difficult. This was the first class in my college career where I have done everything and still received a poor grade. Tough grader, very blunt. She knows her material well and seems to like what she does but I feel she holds unrealistic expectations.

Her assignments were all over the place. She seemed to have too much going on. She bragged about how hard she had it going through college, but she was beyond privileged and her circumstances allowed her to become who she is today. That being said, she holds you to her standards so be prepared to write like an editor.

Already have degree so I signed up for this class for my job. 2nd week-professor dropped me from the class. I have reached out to her to ask why & she is unresponsive. I had already submitted assignments & discussions that were due ahead of time. Now, I have to explain to my employer why they paid for class that I'm not even in anymore.

She expects a lot out of her students which I appreciated. She did take a long time to grade and was very demanding on how specific she wanted her work. Her class did teach me a lot of time management, but probably one of my more stressful classes. Not an easy class necessarily, but not the worse. If you want a challenge, take her.

This is a passionate teacher, but it's hard dealing with an online class where the professor expects a lot from you. She responds to questions quickly, but can be confusing about her answers. She can take time returning papers and her comments on rough drafts are too vague, but providing good comments on papers online can be difficult.

One of the rare classes I have taken that is actually college level. Thank god. Nice to finally have a challenge and be respected. I learned so much and am better prepared now to transfer. If you do the work, she is right there ready to discuss any questions you have. She responds to messages very quickly. I am so glad I took her class.

I have never had a teacher who was so supportive. Yes, I needed to be reminded to print the materials from my online course, but once I began to follow the directions, she was more than willing to answer any of my questions. If you want an easy class where you learn very little, do not take her. If you want to learn, take her. She is great.

I will never take a course from this instructor again. I am more than willing to put in the effort and do the work, however, her vague instructions on assignments made way for confusion. When I asked for help, she remained vague but then chastised me for not following directions. Group assignments were pointless because this was an online class.
