I learned more from the reading than from Dr. Harris. We focused a lot on deities and rituals, but occasional questions about a tribe's history slipped into the tests. It's easy to know the spiritual details because there is so little, but there is too much historical detail to know it well. Regardless, she expects lots of detail.

Dr. Harris seems very nice in class, but after taking a few exams, she is a tough grader. She took 6 points off of a 25 point question because ONE of my FIVE examples for ONE section was "not actually" in that group. She grades papers hard, too. She doesn't give you a number grade but rather, a letter so I never knew what my grade was like.

She's very dry and doesn't know how to lead class discussions, though she does seem to like the subject and TRIES to make class interesting. She also isn't very understanding. For example, she took of points for a paper I turned in late because I was sick. Overall, she has maybe just been teaching too long.

You have to agree with her. You're not there to learn so much as to be indoctrinated in her way of thinking about religions. Very little material was covered compared, and most of it was not of an objective nature.

The class was very interesting. But keep up with the reading, and go to class. She has surprise assignments and quizzes. Likes groupwork. I did enjoy the variety of teaching skills and media she uses. I def enjoyed the class.

She used many different types of way to approach the topic - music, movies, drawing, groupwork. She likes group activity and projects. Make sure you keep up with the reading even though it is difficult for science majors sometimes.going to class is very important. I believe a 50 min class maybe have made my experience better.

I surprisingly really liked this class just because of Dr. Harris - she made it interesting. She's a very nice lady who appreciates good class discussion. Very easy to approach and talk to.

A very biased individual. Her tests were pretty easy, except she got mad at the class because few people showed up on the last day so she decided to make the final unduly difficult and screwed over a lot of people. I will not take a class from her again.
