I love Professor Janet Menard. She is a caring person and really inspires me to do well in class and beyond the classroom. I left Canada many years ago and now holds the position as the Deputy Vice Chancellor. Professor Menard's photo taken in 1993 still sits proudly in my office today.

My favorite Professor to date.She was very clear, very helpful and very passionate about the subject. Students disappointed in her teaching ability are likely NOT willing to work hard to acheive good marks.

By far the worst teacher. Her classes are boring, and you can't understand a word of what she says which makes the course even harder especially since there is no specific textbook for this course. A very harsh marker, and extremely arrogant! Would strongly recommend you to refrain from taking this course with her! Trust me you will regret it.

Best prof Ive ever had - deeply disappointed in ratings on this site. She is very misunderstood because she has extremely high expectations from her students. If you arent prepared to work your butt off dont take the course - if you work your butt off you be treated like gold with all the help you'll need. Most productive learning ever experienced.

I think that a lot of the issues people have with Menard are really more about issues with King's College. I also feel that there's something about a female professor that intimidates students. I've heard similar complaints about other women professors. Go talk to her in person during office hours. She is a harsh grader, that's true.

I don't see why people hate her. I had her 2 years during my time at Western and thought she was one of the best professors. She comes across a bit harsh, but genuinely cares about her students.

Worst Teacher I have ever had. I dont understand how one person can go through life knowing that they are disliked by everyone. Shes mean, rude, ignorant etc etc etc. Her lectures are the worst and she is overall a bad teacher. Wish I had never met her.

"I must keep in mind that the class average remain 68% or I have to answer to the dean.I can't give everyone the mark they deserve" "I mark according to how I feel.If you have nice hand writting,the neatnest makes me feel good." Dr. Menard is a nice person and very understanding, but she needs to improve on her lectures, they are boring. Unluckily for me but lucky for others is the fact that during to 04/05 year she will be on sabatical!
