She is AMAZING. we are only allowed 3 in the previous section, I would also add respected, get ready to read (it was a seminar class), accessible outside class, clear grading criteria, amazing lectures (I've taken multiple classes with her), goes above and beyond in caring for her students. She is by far my favourite prof in Sudbury.

Comment:

Took an online class with her. Was very well organized, a lot of extra support. She even created a Facebook page to send us additional information and provide extra support. Web-based discussion groups were of great importance for this class. Overall I was very pleased with this prof. (I have never had an in-class course with her).

Dr. Liedl is an excellent lecturer. Her teaching style is clear and she is very passionate about the material. I also found her to be very approachable when I had a question or concern. My only two complains are: (1) the assigned readings were a little overwhelming and (2) I would have liked more guidance for studying for the quizzes.

Definitely a favourite. Very knowledgeable and insightful. She's always willing to help, gives great feedback, and she tries to make all her lectures interesting. Would definitely recommend any of her classes

A very nice prof, her lectures are just alright, at times they can be a bit boring. Puts all of her lecture notes online. Always explains assignments in detail, and marks them fairly. She is passionate about history, and you will learn a lot from her if you take one of her classes.

This is the second course I took with Dr. Liedl and I enjoyed both of them. The lectures were interesting and fun, despite the somewhat dry material at times. Material was a bit tough to get into at times, but classes were still good. Bit of a slow marker, but approachable and helpful.

I can't agree enough with the review below mine. I find her lectures dull and her selections of readings tedious. Her decision to change her syllabus 3/4 of the way through the class and throw out pop-quizzes didn't sit well with me, despite my individual success on them. The comments about everything taking forever to come back are also true!

Liedl appears to be a prof who's best days may be behind her, her passions appears to have been extinguished, and she took forever to get stuff back to us during the 2nd half of the term. At one point I could understand these glowing reviews, but they seem sadly dated at this point!

Dr. Liedl was robbed of the teaching award this year. She is in my opinion the best professor I have ever had the pleasure to learn with. She encourages questions in class and never mocks you when you are wrong. She loves her subject and loves it when you do too!

Professor Liedl is giving and cares a great deal about her students. Reading the text will enhance the lectures but she is so comprehensive in her lectures it's not really necessary. She is funny, smart and seems to know everything!

Terrific Person, but I think its time for her to go on sabatical. She seems burnt out. Ive had her before and this time around things are taking for ever to get back to us. Very approachable, but save your self some cash and DO NOT buy the text book. We never use it. She only tests on her lectures

The textbook is more interesting than the class. The material is very interesting, but the lectures are dry. Marking takes forever to get back, she should adopt the 1 week time limit like other professors in her department. It would be greatly appreciated by many I think. Nice person, helpful, knowledgeable, but not all that interesting in lectures

A friendly person, but took forever to get marking back which was kind of annoying as some of the assignments (tutorials) were the same format and she took weeks to get them back so by the time you got one back you had already submited 3 more and you couldnt better them. Having notes online was very handy though.

"Dedicated" is the word. You will feel and appreciate the amount of effort that goes into every facet of her role as instructor. (Except, perhaps, essay feedback, which is sometimes vague.)
