Janice is the best. GRSJ 224 is super interesting and you actually learn some really important stuff. Janice is hilarious, relatable, and an overall great professor. Reading and assignments are not bad at all and the grading is relatively easy. Would recommend this class to absolutely anybody.

Dr. Stewart was amazing. She was always very accommodating and the final project for this course could be creative too so some people made paintings and stuff. Overall, if you put in a little bit of thought and effort, you'll get an A. Can't wait to take one of her classes again!

Janice was one of the best profs i've ever had. Thoughtful, knowledgeable, and very kind. She's willing to help you through anything you need. Her lectures were thought provoking and opened my mind to other perspectives. This was a 6 credit course so I had a lot of time with her and left feeling like I could call her up in the future to chat.

Dr. Stewart is a generous marker, but be prepared to do the readings and pay attention to lectures to get the most out of this class. No exams or tests, but final project was difficult to understand. Office hours were life saver, GO to them! Enjoyed course material, was a bit unclear at times. Found 3hr lectures just fine, sometimes ended early.

Janice is one of the nicest and most personable professors at UBC. She is very intelligent and self-aware and you can tell she is passionate about what she teaches. Lectures can be boring but overall the materials for the class are interesting and she grades very generously.

Janice didn't catch my interest for much of the semester, and the 3-hr lectures could get long. But this woman is an amazing human being, and her final lecture to sum up the course was INCREDIBLE. Seriously, never been sitting on the edge of my seat listening to a prof, but she had me. Really genuine, hilarious, and really makes you think.

Best Prof at UBC for sure. She's super personable and understanding. She teaches great lectures and really makes the course fun for her students. Make sure you do read the material she asks you to and show that you understand it. I love her classes and will definitely take more in the future!

Best teacher I've had at UBC. I had her for a WMST course and honestly I wish all the teachers in that faculty were like her. Real, interesting, open-minded, and does not try to force her opinions down your throat which I have found can be problematic in the GRSJ faculty at UBC. Go to class and show here you're interested and you'll be good to go!

One of the nicest, most understanding, intelligent, charismatic, down to earth prof. Came into the class and was kind of off put by her immediately, don't remember why. But grew to respect her more than any other professor, well except one first year prof from kpu. She is the reason I am still in school and striving instead of being dragged out
