Excellent professor, her lectures are the best I had in the whole honors college. Dr. Hanson, loves to teach, her topics are externally interesting. All my classmates liked her a lot. There is a thesis to write in her seminar but she help you one to one meeting. She always reply students emails. Prof. Hanson is organized has excellent PowerPoint

Professor Hanson is a very kind and caring person that loves to teach students and help them learn. The course material for 334 is very similar to the things you learn in the other comm classes. She is very approachable and sometimes is a little funny. There are 2 exams and a final exam that were fair.

This class is all her opinion. Its pretty boring to sit through especially she only has about 5 slides per 1:45 min class. I didnt go to class that much or study at all and got a C+ if you put in minimal effort you can do well in the class. (No book, all online readings if you choose to do them)

Professor Hanson is wonderful. She's so bright and full of life. She's passionate, clear, and interesting. She always brightens my day and this class is both easy and interesting. We talk about both the history and future of technology and communication policy. Fascinating stuff.

Prof Hanson is awesome! She's so sweet and really understanding- her lectures are great too- really relevant- just go to classes and take good notes and participate in all 3 discussions and you'll get a good grade

One of the best professors at UMass. The only class where it was more conversation al then a typical lecture. All points are detailed and she explains everything very clearly. Tests can be difficult, but pay attention and you should be fine.

Loved her. Took class to fulfill IT minor requirement. 3 mult choice exams, all fair. Need to take good notes though, she will ask questions about things from class that aren't on powerpoint. If she talks about it for awhile, you can expect a question on it, so can't just copy powerpoint, listen to her and take notes. Material actually interesting

This class was terrible. The grades are only based on 3 diffult exams (the final is cumlulative). She is a nice lady but her exams are so tricky and she says theyre based on concepts but theyre SO specific and she pulls info out of nowhere. Very unfair & you can only get up to 6 lame points for extra credit added onto the final exam grade...awful.

This class should have been so easy, but Jarice's tests made it SOO bad. Her tests are completely unfair, tricky, and dont accurately test yourknowledge. The MANY T/F questions easily make you loose points and mess with your mind. Her notes in class are so vague and even going to all the classe and taking extra notes did not help. HORRIBLE CLASS!!!

One of the best classes i've taken so far, her passion for her subject has gone so far as to cause me to seriously consider majoring in Communication. An Excellent professor with humorous, very clear lectures, reasonable tests and grading, and an excellent, extremely informative class overall!
