Lectures can be a little long-winded and boring at times, however, you learn a lot from him and he is very easy going and helpful. His assignments are very reasonable and he marks very fair. I have already signed up for another course with him. He marks very consistently as well, which makes is easy to find a flow for doing your papers.

This has been one of the most informative classes I have ever had. Dr Yaremko knows his stuff, and is proficient at getting everybody involved in the class discussion. The workload was moderately high, but he is a very fair marker and will help you do your best.

Sometimes takes a long time to get to the point - theres a lot of fluff inbetween. Overall a really interesting course. Unlike a lot of other profs, he replies to e-mails on the weekends and within a reasonable time.

you could tell what side of the spectrum this prof is with this course. if you are anti-Castro don't take this course because you will be fuming. Dr. Yaremko is a wonderful professor and understanding to students' needs. I will be looking at other courses that he is teaching because he you could learn so much about him.

One of the best prof's I've had at the U of W. While he may be a bit scattered, when he has his cue cards he comes up with a great lecture. Very fair marker and not too much work either.

Prof. Yaremko gave very monotone lectures plugged with constant space fillers (um) and throat clearing. He's very intelligent and was helpful when I consulted him about a paper, but he comes across as a professor who teaches in order to research. He does prepare you well for the exam, though.
