He used Star Trek to explain philosophy before it was trendy. But a fickle grader

Comment:
This class bored me to tears. The professor made a lot of borderline intolerant comments throughout the term. When it comes to actual work, the prof's marking seemed to be completely random (though that may be due to the different TA's). I hated every second of this class. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Awesome professor, the way he sets up his class projects are awesome. All of the smaller projects are supporting projects to the larger ones. His lectures are interesting and he is very understanding and overall a very skilled, professional and friendly professor

I was in one of Prof. Drydyk's philosophy classes in my first year. An extremely clear and organized prof. He used detailed slides (which he posted on WebCT) and thoroughly explained every theory and assignment. I never felt confused in his class. He was a great first-year prof.

I think he's a wonderful guy and so long as you have an interest in Philosophy (from mild to high), you'll enjoy his courses and his teaching style. He's quite approachable and helpful, and he speaks very clearly. Also has great sense of humour, which is a plus. Definitely consider taking his class if you like Philosophy! :D

Lectures could kind of drag sometimes, but I like that he always gave time for in class discussion and seemed genuinely interested in students' opinions. Readings were easy to keep up with and assignments increased in weight as the class went on to give time for improvement.

He is a perfect example of how a professor can be both interesting and still teach you something new and complex. I hope I can take his class again, because he is by far...one my favorite professors ever!

Pretty easy class and prof, no mandatory final was a plus. Beware of biases though - if you're not left-wing, he'll pick on you.

Definitely the best professor I've had to date. He pays attention to his students, even those of us who don't normally make it a point to talk to their professors.
