Comment:

I went through a ton this semester that weighed heavy on me and did not hand some things in on time. I was honest and explained my struggles. He worked with me and let me hand things in a little late for partial credit. His accent is tough to understand but if you pay close attention you'll pick up the information you need to succeed.

He can be very hard to understand and very unclear. He will not work with you if you have a question and usually if you ask he will just get mad and yell at you. If you ask a question he will also reply with something that makes zero sense. Worst professor I have ever had will never take again.

Although he does yell and get frustrated at times, he is a compassionate teacher and cares about his students. It is hard to understand his accent, but you get over it quickly. His lectures are boring, but you should pay attention because toward the end of the semester the class gets really hard.

Pretty good teacher overall. As long as you do the assignments he gives and study, you should be okay. Only bad thing about him is that sometimes when you ask him for help, it can be kind of difficult to understand him and he seems kind of bothered.

Honestly, the most difficult thing about having Professor Murthy for a CPS class is that CPS is rather technical, and it therefor requires the use of technical terms. It can also be a bit abstract. Professor Murthy has a strong Indian accent which can make it difficult to retain some of the lectures.

He has a lot of bad reviews on here however that I feel these student were unwilling to do the homework and ask for help. He will add points to your exams and delay quizzes if the class needs more time to study. You won't pass if you skip OR give minimum effort. This isn't an easy course, but he WILL make this course much easier on you!

This professor is not the best I struggled the whole time he really doesn't explain what you did wrong on your program. What a mess everything seemed rushed and if you are not a good test taker your grade is based on 2 exams.

Overall CPS structure at CMU is not good. It is designed as we have prior knowledge and unfortunately we do not. Professor is caring that he pushed back multiple quizzes and assignments as he wants us not only to learn but to pass!

This Professor is the worst! There is online homework and he does not give a reminder that homework is posted. Make sure to check is periodically or you will lose homework points. Test are hard make sure to study your butt of. This is the worst professor that I have ever taken.

horrible accent, boring mono tone voice. He easily got made at students for asking questions during the lab section about how to do things if they were about stuff we had already were suppose to learn so it sucks asking questions if you fall behind. FIND ANOTHER PROF IF YOU VALUE YOUR GPA!!!

Terrible professor. He doesn't cover the material well enough for students to understand. He also gets angry when students don't know how to do write a specific code. Exams are very hard. Read the book and know it inside-out in order to pass. Not looking forward repeating this course.

Decent professor that introduces very useful programming practices. Don't really care about his accent unlike some others, but his information is really helpful. You'll do well to read and understand some of the Java tutorials, but our homework is usually done on a specific lab day each week and we have online coding. Attendance is not mandatory.

you cant understand him due to his indian accent and how softly he speaks, mixed in with him hacking up a lung every day. he gets angry when students do not understand what he is "teaching". that is in quotes because he expects students to know this stuff. he called out a kid in class today for typing code while he was presenting information.
