John was a great prof. He did an excelleny job explaining the differences between American and Canadian cities. Loved all of his courses. Highlight was the trip to New England in 1991.

He's retiring so there's no reason to bash him people. Yes his lectures are somewhat dry, but that is his (any many others') style. I blame poor attention spans among student for any poor ratings. He is vastly experienced and extremely knowledgable. Geo. of S.A. is very history oriented for a GEOG course, but why shouldn't it be. Take care JET.

Geog of Southern Africa. Great subject, great prof. He made the classes extra interesting by bringing in personal stories of the area, and showing slides. Very knowledgeable, fair marker, easy going. I would take another class with him if he wasn't retiring after this April.

A very knowledgeable prof, but unless you LOVE Post-Cold War history, his lectures are extremely dry and boring. He is a little painful to sit through, but occasionally he says stuff that's funny enough for you to stay the second half. I wouldn't take him again though.

i hear he has a wooden leg. he's very nice, interesting, good sense of humour, and quite entertaining wasted and subsequently hung over (like all the profs on the geog field course!) in the classroom, his lectures are fairly dry. his 'cdn city' course should've been called 'cdn municipal heritage'

Tunbridge is a hilarious well-travelled intelligent lefty. if you're into hearing about the world straight from the mouth of somebody that has lived life to its fullest, take whatever class he is teaching.

A terrible professor...avoid him. He carries his things in LCBO bags and he uses little national geographic maps which he points to, while lecturing in a huge auditorium. I hate him!!!
