Comment:

VAGUE is the best word to describe her. I've taken many classes with her and shes my advisor (for 3 years now) still has no idea who I am. She is extremely unclear on what she wants and constantly tells you to refer to the sylabus yet will repeatedly change the sylabus throughout the year. Shes lazy, unorganized and frustrating to deal with.

Worst professor Super nice lady definetely smart But has no idea how 2 teach. Most unorganized & under respected professor ever had. Not many other profs credit her. She is tough grader and doesnt give much detail of what she wants for assignments. Tests so terribly worded you dont even know what the question is half time. If option, dont take her!

Dr. Boal has a great sense of humor and keeps lectures interesting. However, she can be unorganized (PowerPoint slides in wrong order, change of plans at the last minute, brokenmissing links on D2L, etc.). Her expectations for assignments can be unclear, and she changes her mind about what she wants on assignments after they've been handed in.

If you read and do the online homework, you'll pass. Oh and come to class. But you really have to study to get As on her tests. I did, it is just difficult. Take her for lab! No quizzes, only homework assignments that are graded. 3 tests and a final, I think. Not bad.

Dr. Boal is a great teacher, very helpful and easy to understand.She checks attendance through iClickers so if you are not there you will not get credit. She gives extra credit for correct iClicker responses to questions. Bio Portal is easy to work with and helps you to retain the material. If you want an easy science class, definitely take her!

I hate Science and am terrible at Biology. I took 100 as a gen ed course and excelled with Dr. Boal. She goes very quickly, but the slides are online. Tests were all multiple choice and took some thought, but the information was covered in class. I would take her again.

She is really nice and grades fair. 4 tests and 4 papers for the whole class that were not too difficult. If you have the time to put into the class, it's worth it. I learned so much and it was a really interesting class... she brings in a monkey to observe! :)

She first came off as really nice and funny but if you're not a bio major then forget about it. In our one lab our piece of equipment wasn't working and it took her forever to get us a new one. Then she was really mean to us about not finishing on time. Its impossible to get 100% on labs and tests are just awful.

Dr. Boal is friendly. Interesting class, some days I really enjoyed it. Hard to know exactly what material would be on the tests. Must take good notes, because most of the test is on here lecture not the book. Overall, I'm glad I took the class as it was more interesting to me than most other perspective options.

It was my least favorite class I have taken at Millersville. Dr. Boal is very nice and helpful, but the class takes presidents over all other classes.(it has to or you will fail) It is extremely time consuming, more than almost all other biology classes.

Dr. Boal is a nice lady, don't get me wrong here. She is just very hard to understand because she moves so fast through the material. 5 tests that are challenging and she is VERY HARD grader in labs. If you are a BIOLOGY major or good at the sciences, take her. If just in it for a GEN ED. Find another professor.

Dr. Boal is a really nice professor and definitely knows A LOT. Her class was quite difficult and a lot of work for a 100 level class though. One day she went over 70 slides in a 50min period. She can be a bit overwhelming. You have 5 tests, so be prepared to study a lot. Not a bad professor though!

I thought Dr. Boal's bio 100 class was easy and informational. She was very helpful both inside and outside the classroom. Powerpoint slides were the main source of study material - no need to buy the book. Exams were not cumulative. If you pay attention in lab and lecture, you'll do well. I would definitely take this prof again.

Comment:

One of Millersville's best assets. Obviously incredibly intelligent, and passionate about her work. She is also easy to talk to and made it clear that she is invested in her students. If there's anything to complain about, it's that her intelligence might intimidate some people. If you're not afraid of that and want to learn, a must take.

Had her for Bio 100 at 1:00 pm and it was boring. All she would do is talk from slides off the powerpoint. But the words in red on the powerpoint will be on the exam. You can miss classes and you dont have to use your book that much. I would just study off her powerpoints on blackboard and would get 41/50 on her exam. I would recommend her.
