Comment:

Fantastic professor. Very very easy to pass her class just be sure to take notes, even the ones you think aren't "important". She's so sweet and nice. Her grading is direct, nothing hard about her class. If you have questions, she's more than willing to explain it further.

By far one of the most entertaining classes I've ever taken. You really get to know everyone in the class (especially Dr. Garner) and it is easy work.

Comment:

Dr. Garner cares about her students. I am in the school counseling program and she is my adviser so I see her a lot. Both the classes I have taken with her have been mostly lectures, but she keeps them interesting and allows for students to discuss. I've learned so much from her class that I was actually able to apply to my job. Highly recommend!

I love Dr. Garner. The class is so engaging and she really cares about her students. There isn't a lot that your graded on but the way she teaches the material it just sticks. First exam i got a 100%. There were only two exams for this class (They were all "open ended" but super easy) The final is a presentation that was worked on all semester.

She is a performer and if you enjoy being entertained, you'll enjoy her class. Stroke her ego and she'll love you dearly. Don't ask questions that make her go outside of her tired old tried and true script. She's mediocre. If you think she's a good professor, you must not question much. Manipulative and practices her implicit biases very well.

Really loved this class and the lectures she would give us because she would just tell stories and have the class share there own experiences. If you don't get an A you literally have to sit there and do nothing. She really opened up to a lot of problems in the world that I'm thankful for. Would totally take another class with her.

Dr. Garner is such an inspiring person. She made me question certain things about myself, the world, and how we teach children. The textbook is rarely used and the "opportunities" are easy. I know I'll never forget what I learned because the way she teaches helps you absorb the material instead of remembering it only until you take the opportunity.

Dr. Garner is a really caring professor! She overall cares about her students well-beings and offers herself as an outlet when needed. She knows how college can be so she tries not to be like every other college professor. We did not learn nearly as much as the other 227 classes but she does give real life experiences.

She is a great professor in the sense that she knows what she's talking about and can speak from experience. She calls tests "opportunities", easy grader. On the other hand, don't expect to actually learn much about child psych. Class discussion was focused more on her kid and Terracycle/environmental concerns than the subject area of the course.

If you get the chance, take a course with her. She knows how students work and how to keep us engaged, she's interesting and very passionate about her job. Best of all she takes students' input very seriously and treats us as equals.

She is an amazing human being to know. She is fair to all of her students and truly wishes the best for them in their studies. She's one of my favorite professors at the University. She gets involved in a lot of on-campus events outside of class and brings her daughter along, too. I hope I have a chance to meet this woman again later in life...

Dr. Garner is by far my favorite teacher! She makes us all feel at home and treats us all fair. I would take any class she teaches in the future. We had only 3 tests, 1 paper, and a power point to do. Her lectures were good and she involves the class for their input. She shows us many examples and opens your eyes and makes you think!

Just because this was an easy A, doesn't mean it's a joke class. Dr. Garner makes you think critically about your upbringing and where you are now. Loved her class. She really wanted you to apply her lectures to real life which made it very applicable and memorable. Applicable to all majors. Plus she's quirky and awesome.
