Online homeworks really help drill the material into your head. She's always available, and is willing to help you one on one. DO NOT interrupt her class or be late, or prepare to get the death stare. However, she is such a sweet woman, wonderful teacher, and knows her stuff. Can be dull at times, but overall i would highly recommend taking her.

I love Dr. Smolen. I took chem in high school and almost failed. Last semester I took honors chem, and I got an A; it's all because of Dr. Smolen. She makes chem understandable and the online homework she assigns is really helpful. She'll go to great lengths to help a student. You have to work for her class, but it's not impossible. Take her!

Not the easiest, but she explains everything very well and tells you exactly what is expected in lab and on the lab reports. Quizes and exams are challenging, but not impossible at all. Study and ask for help with whatever you don't understand and you'll be fine. Funny and nice if you talk to her!

Perfect professor for new freshman. Students make what they want to out of the class, and she's very accommodating, if you're struggling, ask for help, she won't let you get away without full comprehension. I'm worried I'm sticking with Chemistry just because I enjoyed learning from her so much.

She is the absolute BEST!!!!! She makes everything seem easy!!! Im upset she is taking a semester off b/c i wanted her for gen chem II. I had her for lab too and enjoyed it. At least look at the problems she assigns for homework because she NEVER checks them...The tests are not hard....i never got lower than a B on them...TAKE HER!!!
