If you just pay attention and take notes in class, it is at the very least an easy B. She goes in depth with every topic and is always willing to help during her office hours. Literally the best Accounting professor at UMBC. Try not to miss class. All quizzes are counted as extra credit. I had her for Econ 301, 302, and 330

Great professor. I took her for both 301 and 302 and would highly recommend to anyone. Always made the topics and class interesting. She does give extra credit and the tests aren't super hard. As for the book, the only use I had for it was a few homework assignments.

Seriously the best professor I have ever had. I have never written a review about anything but I had to put one about her on here. You have to work for your grade but her lectures make learning the material effective and fun. Plenty of opportunity for extra credit. Exams are tough. Also had her for 301 and came out of both classes knowledgefilled.

Took her for 301/302. Best accounting teacher, hands down. Available during office hours and funny during lectures. Weekly extra credit quizzes and cumulative final with 3 exams. Exams can be tough, but she tells you what it's on. She definitely knows accounting and can explain it. Will take her for all accounting classes possible.

If you are going to take ECON 301 or 302, wait to take it with her. You get extra credit over the course of the semester. Make sure to turn in the homework on time. The tests are exactly what you study in class. No tricks. One of the best professors at UMBC.

Literally, she is the only professor at UMBC who can teach accounting. If you are planning on taking the CPA, take her. I still remember the material I learned in class. Although she is a the best professor ever, you still have to study for the exam. She lets you know exactly what to study for the exam.

I have nothing bad to say, the work isn't easy but accounting isn't an easy subject. Gives extra credit quizzes every friday, gives partial credit on exams if you show your work, she has a tough exterior but she cares about her students. Take her.

She is a fair and very helpful professor. She applies her real world experience into the course material. For a person not know anything about taxation after taking her class I learned a wealth of knowledge in reference to taxation. Anything you want to know she will answer or find out for you. She lets you know what the exams will cover!

I was nervous about taking this class because I heard she was tough, but it is seriously my favorite class this semester. She explains things extremely clearly, she tells you what will be on exams, she'll even review before a quiz if you ask. The quizzes are 2 points about every week, but she tells you in advance, and they are good practice.

I would NOT recommend St Martin. She might be funny and interesting to talk to but not a good professor. Her exams are really tough, you WILL rely heavily on the book (which is not very reliable), she grades on accuracy, and there are NO curves. May also be a favoritist. Choose McBride all the way. I studied my a** off and barely got a C.

Might seem cocky at first, but she isn't at all. She's super funny and has her own opinions, but she's like the cool mom who also teaches college. Gives extra credit, answers questions (but sometimes misinterprets them). Not meant to be an easy class because CPAs/CMAs/MBAs/CFAs/etc don't want inept coworkers (obvious reasons). I look forward to 302

Hands down my favorite college professor of all time. VERY knowledgeable. Gives lots of practice during class and emphasizes on what she will test on, and leaves out the tiny details that's in the textbook. tests are not easy, but also not hard.. Quizzes are extra credit. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!

Very passionate professor, but exams are a killer. Don't believe a word she says when she claims to tell you everything that's on the exam, otherwise you'll be totally unprepared. Her final was the hardest exam I've ever had, and the study guide she gave us was totally worthless. Thank God I not an accounting major!

She has a cocky attitude and always says "this insults your intelligence" when she gives out problems for the students to do in class. However, she is a GREAT teacher and is willing to go over material for you to succeed. She practically gives you the format for each question on her exams but make sure you stay up-to-date on the material!!
