I had a lot of fun in this class. He always made lectures interesting and encouraged students to participate. He was very passionate about the subject matter and was very helpful with his explanations and when answering questions. Overall I had a great time with this class, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in history.

Great professor, he is funny and really passionate about this subject. is always open to questions, in class and in his office hours, will let you email paragraphs of your essay before its due to help you. The course is soooo cool, its the history of pirates. Final + midterm easy multiple choice. 2 short essays, graded easily and helpful comments

Comment:

One of my favourite professors at Laurier. This man genuinely cares about his students and wants to see them do well. His lectures are simple and entertaining. Tests/exams are not too hard (fair) and he left amazing feedback on papers (which were not difficult to write). His exam prep was extremely helpful. Very respectable prof. Love this guy!

Comment:

HI127 is NOT a bird course. The midterm is easy and multiple choice, and the final exam is also multiple choice and not ton bad. Bu there are also two papers that are difficult to write and are marked extremely hard. Also you have to attend class to get the notes, because the slides/textbook are confusing. Not worth taking this class at all.

A chill prof, a little outdated on technology so you will need to hand in papers in person for marks. Not much to say, it's an average class but should go to class to make notes because his are pretty vague.

This is by far the best class I've taken at Laurier and I would definitely recommend taking it!! The midterms crazy easy and the lectures are actually interesting. He's a hilarious prof and a real nice guy!

The course on pirates was a good choice. Dr. Grischow is a fair person who generally wants to see people do well. He has a sense of humor for sure and he is really passionate about what he teaches.

Dr. Grischow is a really chill and real prof. He is really straight up with you and understands his students. He gave extensions on both of our papers that were due, and explicit instructions on what would be covered on the midterm and final. If you put in the effort, listen to what he says, and read the textbook you will be able to do well.

Dr. Grischow is a champ. The guy cares about students, gives good feedback, and has interesting presentations. The essays are not too bad and the exams are a walk in the park. Take this legend if you can. You will not be disapointed.

Dr. Grischow was a great prof! He really cares about his students and even pushed the essay back a fews days cause it was due right after halloween! He's really clear on his expectations for assignments and the midterms and exam are only a few questions. Show up to class to get the material covered and you'll be fine. Its an interesting class too!

Great Prof, really funny, quite laid back in lectures which, mixed with how interested this class and its lectures are, makes the lectures glide by. Not really much textbook reading but lectures are basically mandatory. Essays a little difficult, but interesting.

Multiple choice midterm and exam, but beware hard questions! Fair marker and very clear in his expectations. Genuinely cares about his students and tries to show multiple perspectives. Also don't skip - slides are only helpful for organization not for learning material. Take notes and you'll be golden! TAKE THIS COURSE!

Dr. Grischow is one of the nicest, easy going professors at Laurier. Maybe too nice. The work itself is challenging and rewarding, but he seems to let people get by doing the bare minimum, which can be frustratinghurts the learning experience for others, especially since he does a lot of group discussions. pointless if only 1 student read material
