this class is deceptively hard. While we don't do much in class, you are also graded by a few things which makes it hard to pass if you do bad in the 5 things he grades you for. This class is mainly a reading class, so if you don't have a lot of time to read, don't take this class, if you can handle the reading, then go for it.

Class was boring, but the alot of the readings were interesting! If you have a question, he goes into a lot of detail to answer your questions. Hes a good person but the material is kinda boring. Dont go on your phone because HE WILL CALL YOU OUT.

Class was a constant drone of lectures with little to no variety nor interest from the class. The books and themes had the potential to be ripe for class discussion, but that was squandered by highly repetitive and tedious lectures.

Class is somewhat boring, but the material is interesting. Grading is true to the syllabus, and he grades things in a consistent and acceptable time period. You are graded on participation and attendance, so show up to class! And actually read the books- the final will draw quotes directly from the texts that you won't get from an online summary.

I don't know how people are giving this professor anything higher than a 2. Easily the worst professor I have had so far. Lectures are terribly boring and the readings are long and confusing. The only positive thing about this class is that you can use a laptop to distract you from the boredom. Try your best to avoid this professor.

Lots of reading. You will need all the books. He can talk all day about the reading you did, but is not good at giving clear or helpful instructions on assignments. Also he will expect you to be up on the reading even if the discussion is behind.

The book assigned is worth reading, which is great because you will learn most of what you need for the class by reading the book. The lectures are long and boring, but 10% of your grade is "attendance and quality of participation" so you should probably show up.

MUST read the chapters to do well on the quizzes. Very specific on what he wants in the essays, the prompts can be confusing at first but he is very helpful if you visit him in office hours. Lectures can be confusing.

I studied Ancient Roman culture and symbology under Dr. Brodd. He is both insightful and helpful. Moreover, his classes are always interesting. The man reads in Latin which is pretty awesome.

Dr. Brodd really knows his stuff and he is more than glad to help you whether you ask in lecture or if you visit him during office hours. You definitely need to read. His tests are based on the readings. Two 4 page essays and he is not a tough grader. If you need upper division GE credit this can be a cool class. His voice puts me to sleep though.

Focus study assignment requires you to do extra reading and then lead one class discussion, but small class size, relaxed atmosphere, and fellow HRS majors makes it really stress free. Response papers (6, each a few pages) are kinda free-form and easy, but pay close attention because they set you up for success on the tough Mid-term and final.

This is a pretty easy class, but honestly I would rather my honors classes be interesting and a little more challenging than be boring. He hardly ever updates the gradebook and when he does he says that it isn't really your grade... Very unclear.

Dr. Brodd is a fantastic professor, the class is mostly discussion and he keeps the energy well. He's a pretty easy grader when it comes to the written papers, but the class is overall very vague, it's "opinion based". The midterm/final are pretty difficult by comparison of the rest of the class, so study terms and the theologians who proposed them

Dr. Brodd really encourages independent thought. We were able to pursue our topics of interest while expanding our knowledge about other fields. 5 very short papers, one term paper and participation constitute your grade.

Professor is very nice and soft spoken. He is definitely a lecturer. Little to no participation required but attendance is mandatory. Alot of reading but its easy and often interesting. Quizzes are easy. He gives you study guide for the midterm and Final. Overall i recommend this professor for this class.

Awesome professor. Nice and very helpful. Reading is necessary for analysis of the stories. He grades as a university professor should which means if you don't write well, learn to quickly.

Man, what's up with all the slackers below. Brodd is a professor at a university and he teaches as such. Yes, it is challenging sometimes but it is material that everyone should be capable of grasping. This was one of the my favorite classes yet. Standard midterm and final and a 8 page paper make up 75% of your grade. Not bad at all.
