Absolutely loved her! She was very concerned whether or not you were doing well in her class, and will always meet with you to help you if needed! Attend the classes and you'll pass easily!

Jen seems sweet, but her grading system needs to change. The weekly quizzes are based off of 9 or so questions so if you miss 1 problem you're already screwed. Does these things called "quick quizzes" that are 3 questions right after video lectures and usually have nothing to do with what was just taught. Most difficult class I've had to take here.

I had failed calculus twice already and still didn't really get it, but her online course is fairly easy, with me getting a B+ without trying that hard. Will need to spend 3 hours a week for lecture, homework, and quizzes, but is worth it.

If you try, it's really not a difficult class. She's very willing to give help if you ask for it. The online lectures and quizzes tend to be long sometimes, but they're always clear and worth watching. She was a great math professor.

Comment:

Took calculus as a dual enrollment with my high school, she was always encouraging students to stop in during her office hours and was always helpful and catering to her off campus students as well. Definitely do not wait to complete the material the night it is due though, awful choice.

After a few months it began apparent to me that Jen Tyne genuinely cares about her student's success and well-being. Once when I was feeling ill she emailed me and asked if I was doing alright. She isn't a harsh grader but it was a challenge! Work hard and I promise you will learn a TON. I'm glad to say I'm getting my money's worth of learning :)

She is amazing. All of her videos to teach you are super clear and easy to understand. She always gave great feedback and would explain things multiple ways.

I think that personally she is a wonderful woman, BUT her material is very inconsistent-the mymathlab vs. her weekly quizzes are nothing alike. The quizzes are extremely hard and don't even come close to whats on her tests. Her test questions are hard as well, she gives no curvesextra credit unlike most professors do which would help more people.

I took stats with Tyne and thought she was wonderful. HOWEVER. Her new version of calc is mostly online with a recitation type class meeting time. ENDLESS clicker questions and weekly quizzes that are a nightmare. She takes the HARDEST POSSIBLE questions and puts them all on a quiz. Very rude in class and took everything personally.

Tyne is absolutely amazing teacher! She records and posts videos online about the material that you can go back and watch as many times as you please. There are 3 exams, small weekly quizzes, and an online homework assignment. If you ever need help, you can go and talk to her. She is such a sweet, understanding, and caring person!
