Comment:

If she spent as much time grading our test and homework as much as she rambles on about unrelated facts during her lectures then I would actually have a grade in this class. Just because you are a history enthusiasts does not make you a great history teacher.

She was a good teacher. She doesn't give out any homework, which is nice but a downside for me. You have to read the textbook alot, her lectures are kinda all over the place. She puts things on the test that are from the book and lecture. There are things on the test, that were not on the study guide.

Mrs. Hernandez does not care for her students. She honestly should not have taken this job, because she makes it clear that she does not have time for her students. When you attempt to email her to ask questions about your grades and or any concerns you may have in the class, simply because she does not make anything clear, she gets upset.

Comment:

Professor Hernandez is not as bad as some reviews make her seem. She seems like a very busy woman with a lot on her plate, and her class is pretty easy if you just read. She has some in class activities and online quizzes and even offers extra credit. Read and you'll pass. Also she says jeepers creepers a lot. That has nothing to do with anything.

She spends every class period lecturing about one thing, then bases the tests completely out of the book. Her study guides (if she makes them) are almost useless as well. Make sure you read, otherwise there's no point in even showing up. She's also really bad at updating the gradebook.

Her tests are horrible. 50 questions. Tricky. Studied for hours and hours. Should have got an A. Ended up getting a B. Tricky tests. Not fair. The pros are no hw.

Nice women, her lectures can be a bit boring but she always tries to make it a bit more interesting. Very clear grading criteria and everything on the test will be covered in class. Its an easy class really

Comment:

Professor Hernandez is an exceptional woman with a flair for history. She knows what she talking about and I would argue anyone who gives her a bad marking. Her study guides are perfect and tests are reasonable. History is not my "cup of tea" and I still really appreciated her. I wish I had taken her for both courses I needed to complete my GEs.

Good: She's a great teacher. Her lectures are really interesting. Bad: She takes way too long to grade tests and papers. Also she treats ALL her students like children. I understand having to deal with immature kids right out of high school can be frustrating but not everyone falls into that category, and shouldn't be treated as such.

Took a while to grade things online. Her tests were not really too bad. Supposed to be an easy A, but was a little challenging. Drops your lowest Unit exam grade. Powerpoint notes make a difference, so go to class because she does not post them online.

Mindtap was a mess all semester and she did nothing to fix the problem! She doesnt have office hours and doesn't respond to emails weeks at a time! Don't take her if you need this class for a GE. She only pays attention to you if you know a lot about history, and is very strict!!

Long story short, if you aren't a teacher's pet, she won't acknowledge you unless you use a computer during class. Then she'll harass you in the middle of class, in front of all your other classmates who are happening to be texting, even if you maintained an A average. She is really sensitive and is all over the place, so stick with the book.

If you like a class with organized lectures, this is not the class for you. Sometimes she used power point and other times she put keywords on the board in no significant order. Isn't very conscious of students with full time jobs or families because she sends study guides 1-2 days prior to exams, expecting every student to have time to complete it

Professor Hernandez is AMAZING. She is a great teacher and I would recommend all with some knowledge of history, even a basic knowledge to take her class. She is very informative and helpful if you ask questions on ANY assignment. You must show up everyday and every test day or investigation day or you will have a hard semester. SHE'S AWESOME.

Her lectures are all based off the book. Her lecture style is conversational and easy to follow, especially if you read the book. She has a nice, calm demeanor. However, her grading criteria is not clear when it comes to short answersessays. If you don't have what she's specifically looking for, you're marked down.

Touch grader. All big exams no class work. Maybe one assignment here and there. Majority of the class relies on your exams and how well you do. Exams are 75 points and a class assignment maybe 30 points. There is no extra credit and she is strict about attendance no show you get dropped.

She is a good teacher, but it is also difficult. Doesn't post the grades on blackboard so it becomes difficult to know how you are doing in the class throughout the semester. Doing the reading is highly recommended and helpful for studying. Definitely pay attention to the lecture and good luck.

Comment:

Professor (almost Dr.) Hernandez is one of the best professors I have had. She cares about her students success and wants them to do well. Good attendance, notes, and study habits will ensure a good grade. She even provides a study guide! You have to work for your grades in college. I've had her for 2 classes not rude once! I highly recommend!
