Comment:
Very unclear about procedures for assignments. Only being graded on a handful of things and there's no place for re-submission or extra credit. In University, professors have to be clear and discuss assignments because we have too much going on for us to use a magnifying glass for every little thing. 75% of the class is at a 60 or lower. Not good.

Awful. brutal marker, and if you're not a classics major she doesn't care at all about you. Despite the fact that most of her classes are cross listed, and so have a ton of history, anthropology majors, etc. she will not help you or accommodate in any way. She takes marks off for spaces in your essay, and so much of your mark is based in format

I hate this class and the professor. Her class participation mark is 30 percent and you must talk to receive this. Her lecture style is boring and dry. The material is interesting, however she required almost two hundred pages to be read a week.

She's a good teacher that sets high standards, so it feel extra good when you achieve them. No textbook but lots of academic papers to read. The class was manageable, I just wasn't into the content at all. She can talk about Greek and Roman pottery for ages.

She did not provide as much detail as she did in first year. She sets way to high standards for a second year class

I've had Jennifer for 4 classes now in my four years at Trent and I've enjoyed all of them. She is one of the profs I learn the most from. She is very sweet and funny and crazy smart. She sets extremely high standards for you, but she also does for herself. I would recommend her to any student who is passionate about the subject.

Jennifer was a great prof. one of the best in the classics dept. but I understand that her style of teaching wasn't to everyone's taste...if you got her teaching style and what she expected, her classes were a breeze! Very straight forward, gave you the facts you needed, essays & exams were never a surprise!! Wonderful Teacher!

Not helpful and extremely boring in lecturing and teaching methods. If you are not majoring in the subject, she isn't interested in who you are and what you're doing. Actually refused to exempt me from an exam despite a valid doctor's note (I had mono) - because my grades during the year weren't "good enough".

not only does she make up her mind about you on the first day, but she also decides that anyone who needs help is completely unworthy of her time, because if you don't already know the subject, you are not worthy of taking her classes, and certainly not of any help.

I'm sure he style of teaching appeals to some people, but I hated it...she made me not want to go to class, I would have gotten more out of watching paint dry than from her lectures...the information was good, it was more her delivery of it.

Her lectures are brilliant. She structures assignments to improve a student's ability systematically; benefits all courses that way. Tests and assignments are more than fair. One of Trent's best.

A very effective lecturer. While the material could be learned from the text, attending the lectures made it really stick with you. Jennifer's CLHI 201 is definitely a worthwhile course for any aspiring classics student

Always looked forward to going to lectures, very informative and always reviewed things so that you didn't miss anything. Article precis was hard, essays challenging, tests somewhat out there but fair. Happy to answer questions, but sometimes seems unapproachable. Also was light hearted in lectures.

Great teacher, engaging, will answer questions easily. Tests are hard, but study for them and you will do fine. Hot as well, but engaged... a loss to all the single students at Trent....
