Comment:

One of the worst professors I've ever had. She was very knowledgeable, but has zero interpersonal skills, and marked harder than any prof I've ever had. I was a B+-A+ student at U of T, and received a C+ on an essay in her class. I remember talking to other people who had failed, who were just utterly baffled. She expected you to read her mind.

I have taken two classes with P. Mori, including a fourth year seminar course. She is extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter. Fair grader. However she can be unapproachable and is reluctant to give feedback prior to submissions. For students looking to build close connections with their Professors this would not be the class for you.

Comment:

Mori means well but her lecture style is difficult to follow. All in all I found that her expectations in terms of readings (100 pages a week) were more than I could handle for one course. Hint: if you pay attention to lecture you can get a decent participation (clicker question) mark.

Comment:

Toughest class of the semester for me. Not only is she the harshest grader I've had in three years at uoft, but the readings were insane-up to a 100 pages per week, and tutorial marks are based on you answering questions she throws at you during lecture. Uncomfortable AND stressful. Don't recommend taking this class!

She's an extremely harsh Grader. I've taken two of her classes now and got 2 C's (I was still above class average) despite trying hard to understand what she was looking for and doing great in my other classes. I feel my essay writing abilities improved as a result, but it seemed impossible to please her, and the lectures were very dry and boring.

This Prof is actually the worst prof I ever had at U of T. She writes on the board like a mad woman, and she is very rude to students. She speaks in monotone and goes too fast. The lectures are not well organized. The course in itself is good, and contains interesting material, but there is no justice done to it cause of the horrible teaching.

This is by far the worst professor I have encountered at U of T. Horrible teaching method, writes on board like a mad man, speaks so so monotone, is rude to students, has no thematic development in lectures. Horrible class, I advise against taking it!

She is an extremely hard marker. She gave me the lowest mark I've ever had in university, and this is my last year. She is not clear about her expectations until after you've already done the exam. Other students also got 20% lower grades than they expected. Do not take her course unless you want your GPA to drop.

Several readings are irrelevant to lectures, textbooks is pointless, lectures are confusing, assignments generally did not reflect lecture material, didn't use hard copy submissions for some reason, didn't mark the first assignment or make grades available until AFTER the drop date had passed, was generally not helpful to students, came off as rude

her lectures were highly organized and had a clear structure, which made it easy to keep up. the marking was definitely fair. also, her tests and exams are straightforward; she also gives them ahead of time so students can prepare.

Don't take her courses unless you want to see your GPA drop. The difficulty of her courses might be worth it if she was as smart as her supporters think she is. I gather they think this because she talks really fast in a nasally voice and has the personality of a calculator. Regardless, her lectures are full of basic factual errors.

Incredibly knowledgeable about her subject but spoke too quickly. I found her hard to follow at times. Main points were not always obvious. Tougher course than I thought it would be. Expected realy in-depth papers, more than other courses I have taken at the same level. Still very interesting subject for those who love it.

Really good professor. She isn't rude just abrupt but it doesn't come off as offensive.I found her very clear and easy to understand. Her exams were very fair. She gave them to us in advance to prepare.When I had a problem with my mark,I tole her and she fixed my problem very quickly while friends with similar problems had to wait months!Recommend!

i dont know who would waste their time taking this class but aparently i thought for some reason it would be interesting. This class not only put me to sleep but Mori was so incomprehensible!! She talked like a book if that helps. Her assn's werent difficult but her lectures were another story. I would NEVER take another class with her
