Comment:

She assigns too many reading(200 pages every week), for the amount of writing, which are extremely difficult to go over individually and even she confuses them during class. She will let her TF take office hours but if you insist in meeting with her, she will meet with you. She's behind technologically. She's pleasantly open to differing opinions.

Jenny White is possibly the worst professor at BU, and I'm saddened by it. Myself and three others in my class have felt personally victimized, are unsure of what the professor wants, have not received any positive feedback, and now dread going to the class. White gives rambling lectures, and her feedback is extremely unclear on assignments.

Im a senior so I have had many different experiences with classes and professors but Jenny WHite is the worst professor I have had at BU. She was VERY condescending to her students, she would interrupt them in the middle of an argument to signal that they were wrong (According to her, cause this course of study is very subjective)

Prof White definitely is passionate about her fieldwork. I took 2 classes, one was terrible, this one was okay. Problem was when I did outside research on her region and it seemed like she had oversimplified or exaggerated major issues. She hates to be contradicted so keep your doubts about her to yourself. PS, students may NOT call her Jenny.

Professor White is an extremely passionate teacher. True, she is a very tough grader when it comes to writing and clarity ect. but she is merely trying to help students improve (i.e: Teach). Read, write and actually take her corrections to heart to experience her value as a teacher and mentor.

If you want Jenny White to like you, agree with her and tell her that her work is amazing. If you go to her office hours with your own ideas, she will shoot you down. She is the only professor who singlehandedly caused a student to drop the anthro major and change to something else.

Jenny White was a pleasure to have as a professor for AN462. Sure, you have to actually do the reading and assignments to get a good grade, but that should be the case in ANY course. She encouraged class participation and always responded couteously to all the students. During breaks, she spoke casually and shared her experiences in the field.

When she's disorganized she blames you and acts like she's the only authority on Turkey. There are other profs on campus who know tons about Turkey - look outside of the anthro dept.

I am shocked, i dont know why every one is being so harsh towards her. Maybe because I was in one of her smaller classes, i got to talk to her very often ( almost every class) she was NEVER rude. she gave me food when i came to her office. she rocks! there is a lot of reading, but I have learned more in this class then in any other class ever!

She is rude to students, a tough grader whose comments make no sense, and the expert on everything even when she has no idea what she is talking about. There is no room in her classroom for student opinions or questions. I learned nothing except to never take a class taught by her again.

Prof. White acts as though she can't be bothered with students. She has no problem flat out saying a student is wrong even when they aren't. She thinks she knows everything! It's very difficult to understand what exactly she wants you to know for exams. Instructions for oral presentations were incredibly unclear, and her grading seemed random.

Jenny White is the worst professor I have ever had. I attended lectures so that I would feel like I was absorbing information better than I could from the book, but I ended up falling asleep in every single lecture. She doesn't curve, even when test averages are Ds. This class KILLED my GPA. DO NOT TAKE IT WITH JENNY WHITE.

Whatever you do, do not take this miserable hag's class, unless you like intolerably dry, irrelevant lectures, a ten page term paper that will get a C grade no matter what, and studying for hours several days prior to the exams and getting a D anyways. This professor is not only incompetent, she is boring, devoid of passion, and entirely out of touch with reality. There were hardly over 30 people at lecture on any given day and her lectures were scattered and random. Her exams are ridiculous and unrelated to lecture material.....and she "DOESN'T BELIEVE IN CURVES" even if the class AVG is a 50!
