Very engaging lectures, but most of the lecture is written on the blackboard, only a bit of the lecture is on powerpoint slides uploaded to the course website, so attendance is really important. Homework can be very difficult as the semester progresses, but Prof. Brainerd is incredibly helpful in office hours.

The homework questions come out of nowhere and you need to use math that you won't understand. Office hours are very awkward even though you need them to do the homework. Tests aren't too bad though.

the subject is awesome. loved it. it is what makes most people major in astronomy. but good luck getting help outside of class. unless you are one of the 3 she likes. i found her cold and unwilling to help. wish the class was taught by someone else.

A great professor! Sometimes corny, but very knowledgable about the material, and covers so much. Going to office hours will help your grade in the end, but its not that hard if you just read the book and review notes. Homeworks are really not that difficult, though sometimes time consuming

Astronomy majors wait 4 years to finally take this class and she ruins it by making all of the homework math problems, rather than theoretical cosmology. Lectures are interesting, but not really linked to the homework. Needs to read over her own homeworks as most are gibberish.

Professor Brainerd was incredibly boring! I could not stand the class and especially hated the fact that your grade depended on your ranking in the class. The grade I got was definitely lower than the grade I deserved.
