Comment:

The lectures are so unorganized that theyre hardly worth attending. The labs are pretty straight forward however when you learn instrumentation it is not well explained for such an important topic. Dr. Mbindyo is kind and helpful outside of class so definitely talk to him if something doesnt look right he tends to make mistakes on exams.

Comment:

Straight up Dr. Mbindyo's lectures are terrible. He has a thick accent and he never prepares for lecture, so he wings it and confuses himself. With that said he's a super easy grader and questions on exams are directly from the textbook. His online notes are pretty concise. Just read the online notes and attempt book problems, you'll get an A!

He's nice. Super thick accent. VERY confusing. He even confuses himself/writes down the wrong numbers at least 5x a day. My friends and I all got As in AP chem back in hs and we leave his class confused all the time. Easy as far as tests as long as you know how to do the hw problems and can teach yourself from the book, which is also confusing.

Dr. Mbindyo is a real gem! He has a thick accent and sometimes it is very difficult to understand what he is trying to say in lecture but all his notes are online and ready to print out days in advance. YOU SHOULD PRINT THEM OUT AND FOLLOW ALONG IN LECTURE! Bring your test to office hours, go over the things you missed, he'll give you points back.

Really nice professor, he is clearly informed and passionate. However almost every student in the class doesn't know for 100% certainly what he says half the time. 1.5 months into the semester and we still have difficulty understanding his accent which makes class a lil difficult. Overall good class tho I really recommend it! 2 index cards per exam

Dr. Mbindyo is a great professor. He is always there to help you and make you succeed in the course. He has very nice personality. He is very helpful. If you have any question go to his office he is such a big help.

He is such a wonderful professor he teaches all the good concepts of chemistry. I'm not a chemistry guy but he makes to think twice about the course a don't like. yes I differently recommend him. He is all about to make you learn something which I really like it.

He's a very nice guy and if you go to his office he will try his best to help you, but he second guesses himself constantly and gets confused as he's teaching which makes it very hard to learn. He never once seemed to be fully prepared for lecture or lab. The lab is easy to get an A if you follow instructions but the quizzes and tests are difficult

He is a little hard to understand but he goes through the problems really well. If you just pay attention to what he writes on the board you will be fine. I would definitely take him again! I found his class to be very easy but you have to show up and pay attention to the class and what he is writing when he is going through the problems.

Incomprehensible and always confused himself. Lab is easy but the lecture is hard. Be prepared to be bored if you attend his class. In fact, if you've scheduled him, drop him and take someone else!

He doesn't speak english that well... and he easily causes confusion. he always had sweaty arm-pit stains which distracted us. once he dropped a crucible (it broke) and yelled something in his native language. he scared me. anyway he's cool person just don't take him. be his friend & he'll advise u! that he's good at. he shud be a lawyer. hes a really nice guy and you can tell he tries hard but he doesnt speak english and has to ask students if hes doing problems correctly. he always puts off quizzes and tests and begins new chapters instead thus making it really hard to pass the quizzes and tests. i feel like im teaching myself this class. its terrible, avoid him if possible.
