He's definitely a character, which makes for an interested class, particularly when it comes to folk literature and fairy tales. Assigned good texts and the in-class discussion and analysis of the texts was interesting. Quizzes every other class, so attendance is important. Somewhat of a tough essay grader, but it's easy to do well in the class.

I think Grisy was awesome. His main thing is getting people to think outside the box...so do it already! Just try. Hes not trying to conform you to his type of writing...hes trying to get you to become a better writer. he really helped me learn! I loved his classes

Well Grisy is a character...the writing class was hard and he is really tough but the reading was easy and fun but you do have to read. It's not so bad...but it is work. Fave. Quote, "When I look into your eyes, all I see is low SAT scores." hahaha ....oh Grisy

First of all, Mr. Griswold is a PROFESSIONAL author--this should be a warning for anyone who is taking any type of English class with him who expects an easy A...books and movies are easy reads/fun movies, mid-terms not bad, quizzes in 306A are straight from reading and/or movies and drops lowest 2, lots of writing and grammar but NO final in 306A

I love this teacher. He is a little rough with all the work he assigns, but it's for a purpose. He's funny and I looked forward to his class. You can't get much help if you just sit and twiddle your thumbs. You should ask questions. He practically gives you the answers to the tests, just review the sections he tells you to go to.

Funny guy. Very interesting class and interesting analogies of stories. Quizzes are easy as ever if you read. Tests are a little harder but not impossible. No other work. I recomend him if you take Eng306.

his test reflects class lecture...he covers the stories in depth so take good notes! unannounced reading quizzes that are easy if u read! only a midterm and final. he has a great personality and is very nice. great teacher and you learn a lot! def. not a hard class, but not totally easy either

He is a hard grader. It is humanly impossible to get an A in this class. He wants the papers with proofs, proofs, proofs. Have a theory & stick to it & make sure almost every sentence prvoes your theory and the topic sentence in a paragraph.

if you got an "A" in his class, i insist that you were doing some sexual favors or something. his lectures were interesting..he loves to hear his own voice. so if you would love to hear his voice too, take his class. all he does is compare your writing to his own, p.s. i can write a two page paper.

I found his lectures fun and somewhat bordering on a mushroom trip through the jungle and "Honey I shrunk the kids". It was tough but we are almost gaduating soon, shouldn't we be able to work by ourselves on a two page paper? I dig Mr.G. Take him if you can!

Lectures are kinda boring as he dwells on some issues and there is little interaction (just him talking) Very interesting material though it will ruin some of your favorite kids books. BEWARE :: he is a ruthless grader. If you get A's in other classes you will get B-'s in this class.
