There is nothing remotely enjoyable about this class. I received a great grade, but worked extremely hard for it. Way too much work for an intro level. Tons of reading, memorizing, and tough grading. He can be very rude too. Do not take this class unless youre willing to tolerate it, I barely could. Not enough characters to explain how bad it is!

For your own good, don't take this class. Seriously. Unless you love theology. Don't do it. You won't learn anything, you'll just memorize definitions for the tests and quizzes then you'll forget them an hour later. Just overall not an even remotely enjoyable class. -15/10 would not recommend.

Even though I'm doing well in his class it is so much work and very difficult. He wants you to memorize definitions word for word for his tests and quizzes and I can barely finish his tests in the 50 minutes because there's so much writing. He also takes a while to grade assignments.

He is a tough grader. For quizzes and tests you have to know word for word the answers so be ready to memorize EVERYTHING. Doesn't make class interesting. Not very approachable and doesn't explain things well.

This class was by far the most challenging class I have ever taken. Expects 20+ pages of writing, but takes his time grading. Just took the final and still have yet to receive two big assignments back. Absolutely the worst professor I have ever taken.

Challenging class, but as long as you put in the effort it is manageable. You must take good notes and study you will do ok. Having a theology background helps but it's mostly another history class.

Hahahahahhahahhahaha. If you are in his class I genuinely feel sorry for you. Warning: Do not take this professor under ANY circumstances. The worst class I have taken as a college student. There aren't enough characters allowed to truly describe how dreadful Fr. Lively is as an educator. Absolutely horrible.

If you have no interest or desire to be involved with the subject of Theology, DO NOT TAKE HIM EVER. He gave me an F for not using his specific citation format on an 8 page paper. He asked the class why we did so bad on a quiz, one kid said "The information wasn't similar to our class notes" and he said "You're notes aren't accurate, I taught that"

This was my hardest class. I am taking three sciences, and this class was the worst. He is very rude, and unless you devote your life to this class you won't do well. I got an F on my journal articles because my font was 13 not 12 by mistake and he gave me an F, my content was fine nothing wrong with it, and he still gave me a F. AWEFUL

This man is so incredibly unhelpful and rude. The class is awful and he is constantly over compensating for his clear insecurity and talking down to people. If you can avoid taking him do it at all costs.

I've gone to Catholic School for 13 years, and this was the worst theology class I have ever taken. Half of my class dropped within a few weeks. Not only did he make theology unnecessarily difficult, being in his class made me miserable. He talks down to everyone and refuses to let you voice your opinion. If you disagree, you are wrong.

If you end up getting this professor I advise you to switch you ASAP. I am doing his final research paper and studying for his 50 short answer exam on top of it right now and I thought I should come and write this. He is a terrible grader. His quizzes do not follow the notes at all. The notes are not clear, and he over all very rude. Worst class.

He is an insanely tough grader and expects you to know a ridiculous amount of information for his class. If you have 0 religious background, good luck!! Be ready for long nights of homework and receiving cold responses from him when you e-mail him asking questions. NOT clear what so ever. I would not wish this guy upon my own, worst enemy.

Even though I did well in this class, it was insanely difficult and not enjoyable. I had an interest in theology before taking this class, and now that is gone. He is extremely intelligent, but the class is not very interesting and he wants you to put exactly what he wants. Be prepared for word for word definitions.
