It is extremely difficult to know what she wants in essays as what she says she wants in the instructions do not always line up to what her comments on the graded essay say she wanted. I do not know what I was supposed to learn in this class. Contributing to conversations & and asking questions does not mean you will get an A in participation.

Dr. Rubio is a fantastic teacher but a very hard grader. Don't take this class and expect it to be easy. You absolutely have to work for your grade. There is an assignment due each week. However, her midterm and final are take home exams, which is life saving. She is also always willing to help in office hours.

Dr Rubio was a wonderful teacher. She is a though essay grader though. She is willing to help you improve your writing skills if you approach her. She loves what she teaches. Won't shove her beliefs down your throat. Loves and grades class participation, you gotta raise your hand if you want a good grade. Class discussion is super interesting.

She's not an easy teacher. She makes you work. She is an excellent teacher though, who really knows a lot about her subject material. You can tell she's passionate about what she teaches. Go to her office hours if you need help. Sit close to the board because she writes small.

Dr. Rubio is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is sincerely dedicated to her students and the subject matter of her class. She encourages students to voice a variety of opinions and is always willing to go out of her way to help students. Use her office hours, if only to establish a relationship with this incredible person.

Dr. Rubio is by far my favorite teacher at SLU. It helps to have an interest in theology, but if you do not she will make you interested in it. Truly an inspiring woman with so much insight to offer. You have to work for your grade, and she expects the best out of you, but put effort into it and I guarantee that you will not regret it. Amazing.

Do not take this class unless you have a sincere interest in theology. I am not a theology major and thoroughly disliked this class. She treats it like a grad school class and expects perfect papers every time. Very unrealistic goals of students.

Dr. Rubio is an amazing teacher; I would recommend her to anyone. There are complaints that she is unfair, but I believe these are coming from students who don't want to work for their grades. Sexual Ethics is an amazing class, and her teaching style is great; it involves class discussion so one can really learn how to be a critical thinker.

I am rating Prof. Rubio because she truly deserves a "smiley face" rating. Don't get me wrong- you will definitely have to WORK in this class to get an A, but this was probably my favorite prof and favorite class my entire undergrad career at SLU. She really challenges you but is *ALWAYS* willing to help if you ask her. She is awesome &I recommend!

If you are truly interested in the subject and enjoy reading then take her class but she is a tough grader and will take off for not showing up to class.

She is one of the most difficult graders I've ever had. More often than not, her paper topics were about as clear as mud to everyone but her. She is also a huge control freak. It's supposed to be a discussion-oriented class, but she always pushed the discussions along to accomplish her agenda, no matter how good the debate actually is.

Alrighty, Her class was VERY text-dependant, but that's just how she teaches. The papers were fair, the only problem i have is that she won't give A's to students who show any sort of opinion that differs from the Pope(we athiests are out of luck). sometimes boring, but very approachable woman.

I HATED THIS CLASS! I expected something totally different. she does not give A's. LOTS OF WORK. DON'T TAKE HER. She constantly plays with her hair and she always talks with her hand over her mouth (so you have no idea what she is saying).

One of the most unhelpful and uneducated classes I've ever taken at SLU. Complete overreliance on literature. Final and Midterm were unbearably boring as were the classes. She even brought her kid to class one day...while we were discussing contraception..and he's only 6 or 7. Avoid her...trust me.
