Comment:
He doesn't use slides and his lectures are really dense and hard to follow. Attendance doesn't seem necessary, and those that are in class often just check facebook or something. However, he grades nicely and with a curve, the grading is just the exams, and if you meet with him or the TA you can basically get the answers. Hope for a good TA.

prof wodinsky provides the questions before each exam and is willing to meet with students and go over the answers. when students take advantage of this, they will do well. i've gotten A's in both classes i've taken with him (motivation, comparative)

Comment:
Nitpicky and old. Nearly impossible to answer study questions without his help, but he'll tell you the answers if you go meet with him before exams. Referenced text maybe twice. Lectures are boring and incoherent, but somehow necessary. But you get the hang of it before the final, and he curves really nicely.

While prof. Wodinsky is a little old and a little scattered, he is still obviously a brilliant man. Biological Basis of Motivation, while presenting some out of date information, was instrumental in teaching me how to THINK like a psychologist. He also is incredibly helpful - if you meet with him, it's almost impossible to do poorly on the exams.

Dr. Wodinsky is the best professor I have ever had, and the most influential upon my career. He taught me how to do research and how to gain excitement from it. And, he steered me into neurosciences. I owe this man my life. Dr. Mark Jacquin, Professor, Neurology; Director, NIH Program Project, Box 8111, Washington University School of Medicine, St

He tries to be helpful and is available outside class, but his lectures are so disorganized--and often directly contradict the textbook--that it is difficult to get a good grade. I went to office hours with a study group and we still had difficulty with the exams. He also has a hearing difficulty which makes it hard for him to answer questions.

This is a very hard but great class. People who think they should be handed a grade without working for it will complain endlessly about it, but if you want to work, want to learn, don't miss the department's most unappreciated teachers. He provides the essay questions that will be on the exam BEFORE the exam. If you do poorly, don't blame him.

He is so boring and disorganized. I take really good notes so I managed to get an A in the class, but he is a crappy lecturer. You have to go sort out your notes immediately after class so that it will make sense. He might want to consider retirement.

He is baaad and boring. We studied for the first test and got D's even when we met with him to go over the answers. We copied everything he said from the study session with him and we still did bad. CAUTION: STAY AWAY!
