Professor Galm does go on tangents, but the class itself isn't that bad. There are 2 quizzes, the midterm, a paper, and a final that make up your entire grade. He sometimes gives extra credit on Fridays. Going to Plus Group is really helpful if you aren't understanding the material.

He is very clear on what is expected of you. Study guides for each exam and quiz are provided. Know what is on the study guide and you will pass. Review sessions are held before each exam, and students are asked to bring any topic that needs clarification up for discussion. He states exactly what will be on the exam during lecture- show up.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! This proffessor literally makes up his own words. I was so excited for this class and the books but we didn't even talk about the books in class (No need to buy them at ALL). The tests are ridiculous, multiple choice but asking you questions that have more than one answer or are opinion based. DO NOT TAKE!!!!

I was really excited to take this class and now I wish I would not have taken it at all. There are three tests that should be easy if you go to class everyday and study, but that isn't how it is. I study for every exam and go to class everyday and I still find questions on the tests with words I do not recognize. He rambles on a lot as well.

A fantastic instructor and mentor. Dr. Galm takes great interest in his students. He is passionate about his field, willing to share funny and interesting stories, and he looks a bit like Richard Dreyfus.

Nice guy! Our whole grade was two papers and two tests, not too hard and he grades the papers pretty easily. Be prepared for tangents that don't seem to relevant; he's mostly about social awareness and a rounded education of concepts rather than getting you to understand what'll be on the test. Flashcards help a lot, go to the study groups!

Loved this class! Everyone that is going into the medical field should take this course. (Medical Antrho) Dr. Galm really knows his stuff and makes lecture interesting. Also, there was only two 2 pg essays and a midterm and a final and all of which were easy to me. He is passionate about the subject and a really awesome guy :)

I love this teacher! Probably my favorite professor I've had in my two years at EWU. He's so passionate and helpful and his class is super easy. You get what you put into it; if you wanna learn something, you certainly will, if you don't, you can get by without. It's your call. Interesting topic though! I took ANTH 101 and 358 with him. :)

He's super boring. But an easy grader. The only reason I didn't get a better grade is cuz I didn't study for the SUPER easy multiple choice midterm due to my pregnancy. This is the 2nd class I've taken from him and breezed through the 1st.

I've taken the med. anthro class by him and enjoyed it so much that I decided to take more anthro classes. I loved his lectures, and Dr. Galm is a great person. I never wanted to miss a lecture and was always tickled to learn new things. Definitely jumpstarts some thinking and lets you find the answers for yourself. I think he's awesome.

Dr. Galm was a great teacher. I was the only freshman in his class, but I learned pretty fast that he really appreciates when his students get into the discussions. His classes have a relaxed atmosphere and he's always willing to help. Lets you find the answers for yourself with only a little help from him.

Can't answer a question in under twenty minutes, scattered delivery. Like another reviewer said, his constant use of "Guys" is patronizing. He says he'll get to it, then never does. About 5 lectures have been unfinished, but he still tests on them.

If you cut out the rhetorical questions and the over used references to "you guys" his lectures would take 10 min. No link to book and seems to ignore 'other' students. Absent minded. Starts a definition or tangent and fails to complete it.

Very knowledgeable professor, generally easy course work. Only midterm, 2 discussion essays, and final. Very clear about subject material, but not clear on assignments. Not always sure what he wanted for the essays. Easy class, but can seem very repetitive. Dr. Galm is a great guy though. Really cares for his students.

Not a fan. Nice enough prof, but one of the most opinionated. If you don't think his way clearly you haven?t thought about it enough. Easy class but if you?re looking for something interesting I wouldn?t advise him.
