Judy is by far the worst professor I ever had. She was unclear, rude, and talked more about her dogs and grandchildren than the material. She once told me that I wouldn't be a good teacher and she hoped that her grandchildren never had me as a teacher. What a horrible person.

Comment:

Fantastic, sweet, and passionate. Best poetry I've ever had! I am depressed that she is retiring. I couldn't stand poetry before her. She is clear, reasonable, and helpful and doesn't pack on the work load.

She's super unclear and unorganized. I got a B+ on the midterm, and A on the only essay we wrote, and I don't know what my final grade was,but somehow I ended up with a 2.7? She doesnt use an online gradebook, doesn't seem to like computers at all, and gives vague answers when you ask about your grade in class.

I absolutely loved Dr. Logan's class. She is clearly passionate about the subject matter and keeps discussions interesting! She's also very understanding and is very willing to let students to rewrites or test corrections to improve their grade.

I loved Judy! She is a little out there and all over the place... But overall, an awesome professor! She is genuinely interested in the material and likes to engage her students. I had an excellent time in her class! She genuinely cares. I will look for a way to take her again!

Comment:

Professor Logan has all the great qualities to expect from an educator her tenure. She is informal, but in the sense as a grandmother figure. Warm, open to any meaningful discussion, quick to praise good work, but gives direction when needed. Not to say that Professor Logan is not as strict, you miss large grades if not present in class regularly.

Logan is a very sweet and understanding professor. I enjoyed the content in this class and there wasn't too much work (two papers, a midterm, a final and a couple quizzes) compared to other English courses. You need to do the reading as she does assign random quizzes on the reading. She's not a tough grader and allows test corrections.

overall great professor! I would only have to say that although she says she is open to many interpretations, it becomes obvious she wants you to get hers (this hurt my grade) . Also, she is quite vague on how she grades her essays and tests. Study hard and turn in multiple drafts! She does allow corrections on both essays and tests though!

Judy is nice. She failed to engage the class. 2 1/2 hrs of discussion is just too much when no one cares after 30 mins. Tests were suffered through. Irrelevant. I dred class. DRED.

Logan is pretty easy and very nice (would be my favorite aunt) but I hated her class. She brings up unrelated and inflammatory issues to keep us "engaged." She also has students "present" on the same chapter we all read... there's no reason to actually read the chapter if you aren't presenting. She picks the worst stories out of the book.

Judy is a FANTASTIC teacher! She's fun, and she's also great and knowing when to let students talk and when to lecture. She is definitely knowledgeable about American Literature, and she made me more interested in authors I hated originally. If you are at all interested in English, be sure to take at least one of her classes!

Dr. Logan is wonderful! Expects you to do the reading and discuss in class, expects you to struggle a bit, but will work with you to help you figure it out. She's funny and not afraid to be silly. Great teacher!
