Comment:

He gives stacks and stacks of poorly photocopied notes. Students are not able to make their own notes because he's constantly calling on everyone for answers. Class content does not tie together well. He doesn't give breaks and teaches well past class time making students late for their next class. This class almost turned me off physics for good

At first I was like... eww math... so boriiing! however, I decided to try this thing called math... glad I did! Class is generally good and prof Murphy made us laugh a few times. He once brought this trolly thing to class and I burst out laughing so I knew that I just had to stick around lol. Haha, fun class and prof Murphy is great!! :)

I actually thought that he was a really good teacher. He does pick on students to answer questions and he is impatient, but other than that his notes are very helpful and he explains everything from root to top. we used the textbook for sample questions but never for reference for the material. He gives out sample exam questions before the midterms

Never gives breaks and finishes class late, making u late for other classes. Discourages learning when trying to correct mistakes on a test. Makes lots of mistakes while teaching and going over answers to assignments.Impatient.The only good thing is he asks if we have any questions from homework from last class. Avoid him if u can!!

A welcome change from highschool math teachers. Gives you all you need to know in booklets that you fill out in class. You must do all homework (its math.) ask questions about it the next class. Asks people questions to keep everyone involved. The worst part of the class was the questions. A good teacher that is clear.

I hate physics but he made it really easy to understand.He teaches the course with handouts which are really clear and straight forward. Lots of practice problems that he is more than willing to go over during class if anyone has a problem with them.tests are easy and straight forward. he doesn't try to trick you or anything.

Comment:

Quite a nice and patient guy. Very heavy on handouts (minimal note taking). He actually is willing to answer questions. Beware: if you do not like speaking in front of other people, do NOT take Gerald! It's guaranteed that you will be asked to answer question for the class. Otherwise, if you take the course seriously, you should do fine.

Terrible teacher. I had him for Biology 12 Upgrade and at the beginning of class, he handed out a huge booklet of notes, and all he does is goes through it word for word. He is no help during any assignment, once he told me "If I helped you, then I would have to help everyone." Isn't that his job? If it is, he didn't do it!

I found him to be quite a good prof for an intro physics class! It was all straight forward, very clear, a little boring but I understood everything. He did just give formulas but we did lots of practice and in later courses i learned more details about the formulas (after I had a firm grasp of what they actually were).
