Before taking his class i read the reviews about him on here so i was skeptical. I took him for 097 so for me it was pretty easy math. I easily passed with an A. He teaches well, too. He has you do work at the white board and he goes around helping. He curves the test if people don't do well.

He was a really good teacher, but he did forget to tell us some things and gives quizzes that are pretty easy, and if you have an A in his class you don't have to take the exam! I would defeintly recommend him, pluse what ever he forgets to teach the sla teacher will teach you.

He is a nice guy but really he needs to stop teaching, he is too old! test and quizes are hard. whispers when he is at the bored, he also forgets steps and when students catch it he laughs.. really its a seld taught class. do not tak eit save your self the trouble

DO not take this class with him!! he forgets steps, say the wrong answers. talks soo quite that you cant hear him. test and quizes are very hard!!! also when it comes to doing your hw he forgets to tell you stuff so you are force to read the chapter to do the work. this is really a SELF taught class!! do not take him!!

He was great. He is easy to understand and to follow as long as you attend all of his lectures. Also, he is very willing to help you in whatever way he can. The course is hands so he can really see what you're struggling with. He really tries to make it interesting and engaging. I recommend taking him. He's a great guy and makes math seem easy.

I took this guy for trig. He forgot common formulas. He taught 1/2 the class using the wrong formula then when he realized it was wrong he told us to forget everything he had just taught us (easy for him to say). He also like to stand in front of the board and cover what he's written. He'll also mumble at the board. My advice: GET A TUTOR!

I have never had a math teacher as bad as him. he does not know how to teach students math. words of advice. if you dont' have a tutor going into the class, get one asap or you will fall very far behind. i would never recommend this teacher to anyone.

Comment:

Schuitman is a very nice teacher! His class is easy to follow, but very fast paced. I missed one day of class and it completely threw me off! You MUST attend every day and complete All assignments and you should be fine! I also liked that he utilized a half hour before class starts to go over previously taught sections. Very helpful/nice teacher!

Schuitman was great. Very funny guy. If you come the class "early" he will try to answer all of your questions. He really wants you to learn math. Very caring person. Utilizes every minute of the class. Don't expect to get out early. He has you go to the board alot which is hands on experience. Real easy going guy.

Very boring teaches up to the last minute of class and will put that on the quiz next time you meet and you wont know it cause he crammed it in and went fast pace, confusing didn't know a lot of stuff or atleast how to explain it. If you are not great in math do NOT take him for a teacher find someone that helps more and is easier to understand.

Ok im sorry but i did not like him. I would just sit there in confusion and he wouldnt explain anything. He would also try to explain a whole section with 5 mins left of class. Also he likes to stand in your way while hes writing on the board. Make sure you sit where you can see the whole thing.

Nice, easy going teacher. Group problems at the board break the boredom of sitting in your chair for 2 hours......Go Jerry! Down side: quizzes beginning of each class, a little too fast paced, but genuinely cares. Attend the TLC for freebies on quizzes! Go to class, do the homework and utilize the TLC and you'll do fine. Nice guy.

I'm a dual-enrolled high school student who was a little apprehensive about my first college class. Professor Schuitman is a great guy and explained things in a way I could understand. We do problems on the board and he explains what we do wrong. He's very helpful and I recomend him if you have a decent understanding of math.

Not the best math teacher I've ever had. He tends to pull out a couple of students and forget the rest of the class, also plan to come in a half hour before class (in my case 7:30am) to get full credit on quizes.
