If you aren't interested in Clinical and just need credit, take a different class. If you are interested, Dr. A will help you decide whether its what you want to do. Its pretty easy, few assignments, she wants you to pass. She's almost too laid back, but she has great experience and advice so the class is still worth it. Don't take it too seriously

There were two graded assignments, a midterm and a case study. No matter how hard you studied the book, you would not do well. There were no lectures. The final case study was a fill in the blank that could be interpreted multiple ways, which left optimal room for error. Reading/studying did not help with this. Also, disorganized beyond belief.

All quizzes were open on the first day & were straight from the text. You could take them over & over until you got 100%. Grades didn't transfer over to canvas correctly. She never fixed it. I learned nothing. There was an added research paper for grad students without much direction. She was bad an communicating. No specific grade was given on it

The grading was pretty tough. You should read a chapter from the textbook a week as that is the only source of info you will get. If you don't read, you'll probably fail. Communicating with her seemed impossible, and it took forever to get a response. It took 5 weeks for the midterm to be graded.

She showed up 15 mins late to the first class. She skipped a lot of classes. She would send her TA, who had no clue what we were doing in the course. Had no assignments until the very end and only like 5. Got off topic a lot. She said we would do volunteer projects, but they "fell through. I don't think she even knew what was going on in class.

we had 6 assignments in total and its the week before finals and there are no grades in the grade book. she didnt come to class half of the time and when she did we talked about irrelevant things. her final is extremely detailed about things we have never talked about in class.

If you need to take Abnormal Psychology I highly recommend the summer semester 5-week online course. 15 chapters are covered in all, 3 per week. Quizzes are due Sunday night. There is NO discussion board, there are no papers, and all of the quizzes run through Cengage learning. A code is required for this program, so you cannot buy a used textbook.

The class is easy, but you will have to earn your grade doing volunteer work and projects. The instructions are also not very clear when it comes to assignments. Overall, the class is very hands on and anyone wanting to work in this field will enjoy that aspect. But if you just need credits then this might not be the class for you.

Ive only had her for 5 weeks now but so far I like her. I have her for Clinical and Abnormal. Sometimes her directions are confusing but just ask for clarity. I dont like that the homework had to be on a scan tron for Abnormal. She encourages discussion and for us to truly think. Ive learned a lot in both classes already. Tests are essay form.

Barely ever in class and when she was she would talk about things we weren't even going to be tested over. Seemed much more interested in advertising her research (that didn't even pertain to the class!) than teaching us. Tests were hard but probably would have been easier if we were given better notes or idea of what was going to be on them.

Extremely funny and made class fun! Online book quiz assignments for some easy extra points. Tests all essay and a bit difficult. However, you can earn half points back if you take home and do correction and this makes a HUGE difference. Will definitely help you if you ask. Final is open book open notes but a little bit more difficult because of it

Rarely even came to class and when she did she didn't teach the material. She had not even decided what the final was going to be over with only two weeks till the final. Overall she was unprofessional and unorganized.

Semester started great - lectures engaging, Dr. A enthusiastic. Near the end, she stopped teaching. Group study, unclear expectations, and poor prof. attendance. I longed for a real lecture by November. Pros: her grading is extremely lax and it's all much easier than she says it is. I was just upset that I paid for a teacher and didn't get one.

Dr. A spends more time talking about herself than she does lecturing (and most of what she says is dishonest, which I discovered by talking to her colleagues and people who know her outside of UNO). Tough exams. She makes this potentially fascinating class into something that students dread. Very disappointing, avoid her for abnormal psych!

Expectations are ridiculous. The essay exams are practically designed to make you fail. Acts like she's your friend, but is consistently unavailable for help and readily dismisses concerns. Frequently displays laziness by stalling in lectures and sometimes even making students study independently or in groups instead of teaching. Steer clear.

It was disappointing. I was extremely interested in the material but, we didn't use one of the books and she wasn't interested in teaching us about disorders. She was mostly into talking about her life experiences instead of teaching. We never got to really focus on the class material.

She makes everything seem more difficult than it really is. Her tests are all essay and you have to have key points that she is looking for. The final is that you have to diagnose this girl. The paper is not as hard as she says, but she gives NO instruction about how she wants it. I would have had a 4.0 if it wasn't for her giving me an A-.

Dr. A is a cool cat. Laid back and easy going. SHe took out some assingments during the semester and gave easy assignments as long as you covered the material she was asking for in the 3 quiz papers assinged. No test were given. End of year speech we didnt even do, she ended up just having us turn in our papers.
