People found him difficult, but the material he teaches are easy to understand if you go to classes and pay attention. He is very arrogant and thinks everything is a joke, but if you do the assignments and the labs by yourself, you will do just fine.

Can be a jerk, BUT he knows what he's talking about, knows what he's teaching, and knows his stuff. Listen, take notes, pay attention - give him respect and he'll return it. Once you figure out his accent, you're golden.

Jian Peng is a terrible prof. I also had the pleasure of having him as my lab instructor where he lectured me for half an hour about how i will "fail 'cause you work for answer, you never gonna get it" - I got the answer myself while he was lecturing me, not helping. BRUTAL

Childish is the best way to describe him, he becomes moody when students use the textbooks method instead of his. Doesn?t teach the physics, he just wants student to put the data in the equation and use what comes out, instead of understanding what is happening.

You've got to find the precision of the party-go with relation to arpha, which is a coooooonstant. Yes, there are times where he is hard to understand, but my biggest gripe is that he created no interest whatsoever for the class. It was better to just write down his examples then learn it from the text book.

Horrible!!! Arpha = Alpha, Formuler = Formula, Corners = Columns (that one threw me off for about three weeks), that might give you a heads up if you have to take a class he teaches. Just remember the CONCEPTS!!!!!

This prof is brutal. Last years class not taught by Peng had an average in the mid 70's this year the avg so far is about 53. The only place I learned anything was in the lab doing the assignments. Kinda a teach yourself prof I guess. Watch out for skipping class and speaking out. If he notices you hell try to fail you cause he loves work ethic.

Can't explain a thing (this coming from someone who did understand his accent). Frequently interrupts his own teaching to whine at the class for talking and to lecture on being late or not working hard enough. Not something I appreciate in a mature learning atmosphere when it was frequently close by me and I didn't even find them distracting.

Yeah, his English isn't very good and it's a little hard to understand, but he goes out of his way to make sure that you understand what is going on. He's not formula driven but concept driven in the teaching and that sure helps clean up some formula driven material that was taught earlier by another prof.
