She assigns 2 many papers! Every week is a hw assignment that is on a reading that is 2-3 or 3-4 pages long & at the same time, we're writing a longer essay that is from 4-6, 6-8, 8-10 pages long. After the longer essays are turned in, we're given them back to revise them at the same time that we're doing the next essay, next hw, and research paper

I would recommend students to not take this professor. She is very picky on what she wants. She makes her students read philosophy since that her filed of study. I would have been fine with this, but if you do not interpret the content the way she does, then you'll get points deducted, as well do poorly in the homework.

I'm not a good writer, particularly since english is my second language. Either way, I tried my best. When going to her office hours, instead of getting good feedback, she would humiliate my writing skills. She does try to help in her own way, but it didn't help me. Taking her class didn't improved my writing skills, instead I lost confidence in it

In my opinion, I thought the class was fairly easy. There are four homework assignments, three papers, a research paper, and a take home essay as the final. There are rewrites for the three papers. She gives a lot of feedback, and while her handwriting is hard to read, you can just ask her about it. Take notes and read the text!

Dr. Buroker is extremely smart! It is an upper division writing course so she does expect our writing to up to par; however, she also allows us to re-write the papers and improve our writing and grades. I was hesitant about taking the class, but it was extremely interesting!

Her notes are impossible to read, she is not very clear in what she wants (even though she claims she is) is very specific to how she wants her papers formatted. She didn't go over how to write. She just went over books we had to read: Plato's Republic and Aristotle on Poetry and Style to help us understand them. Didn't teach how to write.

ASSIGNS TOO MANY PAPERS! - but hates to read them... impossible to please unless you are a phil major or write what she says word for word. Class was pretty boring but needed her notes to write the papers she wants. Cuts people off when they ask questions. However, helpful only when one on one. Should stay retired.

She has continually embarrassed me and other students during class. Her grading is inconsistent. I'm not taking a class I like next quarter because she is teaching it. Talks about herself a lot. Has a terrible habit of cutting students off when they are asking questions. CANNOT read her notes on our papers so rewrites are tough.

The class is hard but if you keep up with the readings, do the homework, and attend class it becomes easier to comprehend. She tends to ramble on but her jokes make class light. She is strict with your right but in the end it benefits you

She's condescending and doesn't really grade papers consistently. She hates when people ask questions about the material because she takes it as a personal attack and gets upset.

Dr. Buroker is an excellent professor, she grades hard but you will learn how to write (even if you think you already know how) She is very funny but can be hard on students that do not do their work. If you are up to get educated, take her class.

Great teacher. She goes over all the material you're expected to know. Very knowledgeable and helpful. She usually allows you to do rewrites for your essays but can grade hard on them. You need to spend time with writing and rewriting otherwise you will likely do poorly. My favorite professor.

She's not big, but somehow intimidating. It's that you know that you better know the material. You can't goof off and think you'll get by. And if you do, you'll end up feeling guilty. Even if you think she doesn't know. She probably does.
