Take any class you can with her. Teaching style is very hands on and different from any other course. Great experiences in every class. Typically classmates teach each other and she doesn't lecture much but when she talks she has amazing stories. Classes are typically easy A+ and include make a poster, one presentation, short paper and field trips.

She is an absolutely amazing professor! I have learned so much from her class! I can honestly say that this is one class that I will tell others to take her class. I like how she allows you to really take your learning into your own hands. Take a class with her, you won't regret it :)

Great woman, I did not like her style of teaching at the beginning of the course (just was not used to having lectures). However, at the end of the course I would say I have never learned more in a class! I ended up getting an A and I think nearly the whole class ended with A's! Highly recommend taking Jill's classes.

Awesome teacher! Would highly recommend her to everyone! She pushes you to learn about a topic on your own and on something you care about. And because of that everyones projects turned out amazing! Will be taking more of her classes, she's so sweet!

Awesome Prof. So flexible with assignments, giving extensions etc. If you have a similar passion as her, she will help you get very far. She is compassionate and down to earth. She has some mad 80's sweaters that would destroy an ugly sweater party anyday. Highly recommend her. She loves to see a students with alot of drive.

Wow...she has such interesting stories...I could listen to them all day! We had so much fun in this class...by far my best class in all of University...I mean you can't beat building igloos! She allows her students to use any creativity that they desire and is so positive and encouraging. Thanks Prof Oakes you gave me confidence!
