1st Real BME class: integrates everything u learned. Don't walk into class late: he notices and rags on you. You never use the book, don't get it. homework is simple and exams relate to it but its crap-loads of algebra. It comes down to how fast u can do algbra. Graders were terrible. Collins is good, but class grading was a huge problem. Goodclass

Not only a genius in research, but also a great professor of clarity and humor. If you take good notes, you won't need the book at all. Homework and exams are quite similar. Comparing this to BE491 signals, most people would say this is easier.

Collins is amazing. This class is simply two hours of his stand-up routine. He is absolutely hilarious. You can even bring airhorns to class. In fact, he's making it a requirement for next year. Class material is pretty straight forward as long as you take good notes and pay attention. His grading is tough, but don't worry too much about your grade

Extremely fun class. Collins knows his material very well and knows the best ways to get his point across. You will not need the book, EVER, so don't buy it. Tests are very straight forward, but his grading criteria is harsh. "EVERYBODY FINE?"

He grades a little on the harsh side and takes a long time to correct things, but other than that, it was a great class. This is a great survey of biomechanics, and Collins is a lively, passionate, and entertaining teacher.

This class is not as easy as it is advertised to be. Basically, you have to memorize a lot of math formulas, and more importantly, you have to know when to apply these formulas. If you apply the wrong math formulas on an exam question, expect a zero.

Though the math in this course is easy, the material covered is very intuitive, ie you usually can't just plug and chug. Make sure you know your concepts well and don't make any stupid math errors. The exams don't just test how well you know the material, but also how fast you can do the problems. Get to know Collins, he's very motivational.

best professor at BU! His class is SO fun! He makes very difficult material understandable, atleast on a discussion based level. If you are a "science" kid do not expect to do science work-- more discussion of physics and how it applies to everyday life. I love this class!! I'd take it again!

Had Collins my fresh yr for UNI core science. He somehow explained biomechanics to a group of 18yr olds who hate anything quantitative (us), and made it incredibly interesting. Awesome prof, BU's lucky to have him.
