He's just an all around great professor. He tells you exactly what he expects out of the class and then he gets down and is really relaxed. As long as you be respectful to him and follow his criteria, an A is guaranteed.

Jim is a great guy. This class was based solely around three individual projects, and one group project. He gives a pretty clear rubric for each project, always gives out good individualized feedback after each one in order for you to improve. His class was hybrid and met once a week. Would recommend for other Honors students.

Loved this class! Jim is such a cool guy and I really enjoyed this class. He understands that we have a lot going on, and assigned projects that were very do-able, but also had meaning. Instead of dreading to go to class, I actually enjoyed coming to this. He was a great professor and I wish I could take another one of his courses!

Dr. Jim Marshall definitely one of my favorite teachers here! He understands that students have other classes so his work load is really easy. Only 4 projects, and 1 of these are in a group. No tests or quizzes. Half is online, but barely posts online work. Just show up once a week for participation. I would take him again if I have the chance.

If you are planning on working in the field of Instructional Design, I highly recommend Jim Marshall. He transcends academia and real life application in his feedback so you will know how to apply the learning outside of the classroom. I took another class just because he was the instructor (otherwise I would not have) and I was glad I did.

Excellent teacher - he is the perfect instructor to be teaching the EDTEC intro classes because he gets you PUMPED up about EDTEC. His class discussions are relevant to what we might see in the outside world and his feedback is very thorough and prompt. Jim gives you every opportunity to succeed in his class and is always just an email away!

Jim is an amazing instructor. He really inspired me to enter the EDTEC field, and prepares his students with practical skills to become instructional designers once they leave his class. I learned so much about learning theories and instructional design from Prof Marshall's 544 course. Writing analysis and design documents and developing prototypes were valuable experiences. The professor's organization, passion, and expertise in Education Technology are unimpeachable. Dr. Marshall is an inspiring educator.

On a positive note He is well organized,is knowlegeable and an engaging lecturer. In an attempt at humor, Dr Marshall is at times sarcatic. Consequently, students self esteem may be eroded and they may be intimidated to participate.
