way back in '68 he was my first English prof. at Delta. I was 19 and had a preconceived notion all profs were old. Mr. McGinty walked into the lecture hall and my friends and I perked right up. Back then he was hot! Since then, I have my MA and taught on the community college level remembering, with a smile, my first crush on a teacher.

I absolutely loved his class. He has the most unique way of getting into a subject (singing "Wheels on the Bus") and makes you look at everything in a slightly skewed way. Made the most of class and enjoyed just talking about the literature. I'm just upset he's retiring, I planned on taking more of his classes.

McGinty is a wonderful choice for someone who would like to look at literature from a different angle. Amazing sense of humor, a subtle genius, and a comedian no less! I recommend this professor for anyone looking to make english fun!

This man is most likely a genius. His teaching fascinated me and I loved to go to his class. Very off the wall and deep. He makes you think in all different directions. A MUST TAKE if you want something that will force you to think. Very specific with criteria of papers, but if u keep the focus narrow n redo any bad papers, you'll do fine.

Loved this class! Of course, I am a lit major, but he made it very fun. I never wanted to miss a class becuase I didn't want to miss the conversation. He involved everyone and even the stupidest questions he made seem smart and fun.

This class just didn't do it for me. It was easy, but the books we had to read were so dry and so confusing. I couldn't and didn't read most of them. I am doing really well in the class though because every test/quiz is either a group effort, open book, or take-home. He is hard to listen to b/c he jumps from one subject to the next with no return.

mr. mcginty could have very well been the smartest guy i have ever met. He really made class so much fun and made it abundantly clear that there were no dumb questions and/or answers. No matter what you said he found a way to fit it in to the material. Wish i had him for every class. MCginty = tightest teacher ever

He makes British Lit interesting by making jokes and telling funny stories. Makes fun of himself. Uses humor to keep the class interested. He is not very clear about what he wants on the papers, but gives you a choice of doing papers or taking tests.

I took mythology from him because hes so awesome. He picks interesting books, but even if you dont read them, he explains it all. He suggests you cheat, will give you answers, and sometimes you dont even have to show up. If you are a right brained crazy person who loves to let your mind go on trips, this is the man to take you. Hilarious, Understanding, involves you in class, and makes it so worth it. I highly recommend his classes.

So unclear on what he wanted for papers. My entire honors class did poorly due to his lack of direction and clarity. Would never recommend him to anyone. He gives the honors program a bad name. I was truly disgusted with his way of grading papers. Had to write our final paper on a MOVIE! Very offensive movie as well, 'Chinatown'. HORRIBLE
