The lectures are very boring - I usually played on my phone as the lectures reminded me of 10th grade biology. Beware of random clicker quizzes during class.

AGR 1005 is easy but the lectures sucked. The power points contain little to no information and you usually leave class with more questions than answers. Dr. O is a cool guy, I'm just not a fan of his lectures. However, he has random clicker quizzes so miss class at your own risk

Dr. Ottea is a very interesting lecturer. There are several opportunities for extra credit. As a science major I found the content to be mostly interesting and it was an easy A elective class. Show up to class, clicker questions are worth 10 points each, and it's the easiest way to get points. The tests are reasonable. The tests are reasonable.

Dr. Ottea was great, I really enjoyed his class. Not really an AGRI class, but a good overall view of the field of science. As a non-science major, I was able to grasp all of the material which he covered with relative ease. And Dr. Ottea himself is great, he has a sort of "rough" exterior, but he loves to talk with students and help if he can.

He loves to give pop quizzes for attendance almost every week so i wouldn't skip class. His tests can be kinda difficult because there isn't much information on the slides. You do get to drop one test though which is helpful.

Dr. O is hands down my favorite professor I've ever taken at LSU. He understands that this is an extracurricular and tries to make his lectures about things that are useful to everyone. He is AMAZING. Go to class, he gives lots of clickers.

He makes it interesting. It is not hard to get an A if you come to class and pay attention. You don't need the book but there are articles in there that he will quiz you on but it usually 3 to 4 questions over the whole thing so it won't hurt you too much. He also does clicker questions for points and gives many opportunities for extra credit.

Dr. Ottea is AMAZING!!! I have never done well in a science class, ever; I made an A in his class. The material is stuff you are actually interested in learning about. He knows we aren't science majors, so he talks about things that pertain to us daily. He knows his stuff! He wrote the book for the class, so readings are connected to the lecture.

It's obvious Dr. O enjoys teaching the content, and it's usually focused on science controversies so it stays pretty interesting. He drops the lowest test grade, but does take semi-daily attendance quizzes. Getting an A is not difficult.

Great guy, awesome class. Honestly, every major should require AG 1005. Ottea's lectures were always interesting, but few and far between. For the most part, he encouraged class discussions over controversial issues. I really enjoyed taking this class, and I learned a lot. This class has 4 writing assignments, and they were actually fun.

Easy "A" if you attend and pay attention. Lots of "free" points: pop quizzes, extra credit. Professor Ottea is cool: he's interesting, tries to be unbiased. Nice looking, too! Interesting topics, great class.

No book. All notes and powerpoints on moodle. Has surprise in class cliker quizzes. Gives many bonus oppurtunites. Has many class discussions to make sure material is understood. 3 tests 1 dropped. tests are 40-50 questions, but easy enough if you pay attention in class. Has two bonus questions and usually gives bonus pts for unclear questions.

Very easy class if you attend all classes and go to the review sessions. Pop quizzes are given and are basically free points for attendance (don't try to hand in quizzes for absent friends, though, because they are very attentive and will probably find out and get angry). Interesting class, lots of bonus point opportunities and group projects

Easy class go to the review tells you exactly whats on the test... class "tries" to let you form your own opinion about controversial topics but ends up swaying you one way or the other
