Jim Schaub was far too into his own life to pay attention to how students were doing in his class. He often got behind due to talking about his own work and then rushed through many of the AE tutorials. His temper made students afraid to ask for help. One good thing about him is that he knew what he was talking about.

Jim is a real great guy, really passionate about what he teaches and is there to teach you and help you. He does go off on long tangents about his pbs documentary and his past projects, but it's an easy class and you'll learn a lot of new material.

Schaub has a great understanding for some of the Adobe programs. He will occasionally go on tangents about his past works, but they are helpful incites into his current projects and the film industry. Seriously, if you show up for the class and follow his instructions, this course will be very easy. No homework or readings.

This was the Advanced Techniques (After Effects) class and I wish Jim would have been able to teach in like 4 years ago because you learn so many post-production skills that can save you in a time crunch and would have been helpful in the lower division. VERY valuable class, GVSU would be foolish not to offer it in the future.
