What a nice old guy! He's just adorable. Very deaf. Must yell his name to get attention. Broke a few lab tools, and he didn't care. Easy going, laid back, talks a little too much before each lab, and is picky with grading. Overall, I highly reccomend him. GREAT professor! Would take him again, easy!

he is such a cute old man! he is very soft spoken, so i would definately try to sit near the board or you wont know what hes talking about. very hard grader...but he makes sure that you do the job right. most people just do a half ass job in labs, he makes you actually learn.

He is a sweet old man. He is kinda hard of hearing, but he didn't let that stop him. He was always willing to help. Whenever I had a question he was very willing to help and he didn't give up until I understood it. I would definetly take another class with him and I would highly recommend him.

OLD MAN RIVERS.. cant hear a damn thing and likes to tell his stories that mean nothing to chem but the thing that frustrates me is he talks for the first 30 minutes of lab and half of it is not relevent to the lab.. plus never heard anyone so excited to drive down the new M-6 highway haha

Craziest old man ever! He never checks to see if you can hear what he's telling you. Then you'll ask him if you did something right and he'll say 'yes' then the next week when you hand your lab in he'll say it's wrong. He's the John Kerry of lab profs.

Jim is a great guy. Yes he does go off topic which can be frustrating but the labs are pretty easy for the most part. He is a little picky on the lab reports, but when you only have to go to lab once every 2 weeks you can't complain too much.
