Comment:

Jodi is great and wants what is best for her students. She wants you to pass. The class work is tedious. Attention to detail is important. Sometimes I feel that she treats it like a 300 level class instead of an introductory course for other classes that we have to take as Com majors. Do the work, read the chapters, and don't blow off the projects.

Comment:

Absolutely loved Jodi and Com111. While the reading material was very dense and often hard to understand, Jodi had thorough reviews in lecture and provided lots of examples to make every theory easy to remember when it came time for exams. Do not skip class, you won't learn ANYTHING, a lot of the examples she gave in class were on the exams.

Truly the worst teacher I have ever come across. Here are a few of the issues you will discover with this teacher. The syllabus doesn't match the class rubric, instructions are often vague, practice tests don't match the real tests, projects/test are incredibly subjective so the teacher can grade according to emotion and not standards

Jodi is awesome. Sometimes she takes up half of class time to push her political agenda, but other than that she's funny and caring about her students. Show her you care and are interested in the class, and work hard on the papers. Homework answers are on quizlet.

Hands down the worst class I have ever taken. Jodi is unprofessional and gets way too angry when a student is just trying to ask for help. If you have a 79.89 she will not round up. The material is hard only because of her style of teaching. GOODLUCK.

Have taken two of her classes and they were really enjoyable. The tests were hard but not impossible. I strongly advice people to take GOOD notes >write down EVERY example she gives during classes it honestly helped ALOT. You have to understand the material don't memorize it! Buy the study book it will give you an idea how the tests will look like!

Amazing lecturer, she puts the material in a way that is easy to understand and learn. She assigns too much reading which complicates things. Very difficult class bc of how much information is covered but as long as you go to class and do what she tells you its manageable. Her exams are all application based so don't just memorize, learn examples.

Jodi is a really nice person. She is a really bad teacher. The way she provides material is ridiculously unorganized. Her tests are really hard. Passing the class is not easy. When we reviewed for the final a majority of the class didn't know most of it and she was just like "Oh, well you should."

Seriously, do not take this class with her!!! It seems that it would be an easy class, but her tests are so incredibly hard. I studied so hard for each of her exams, and I am getting a D because the entire class is based on only 5 exams... DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! Worst teacher at ISU, but a very nice lady! I do not know why the two don't match up!

The tests are difficult but she gives a lot of resources to help and she always answers any questions you have. She's very accessible outside of class. She provides outlines for her lectures and study guides for her exams. Her lectures are entertaining and she is great at applying the theories to help you remember! I'd definitely take her again!

WHAT THE HECK ARE UP WITH HER TESTS?!?!? I did her entire study guide and failed her test. I have her in COM 111, and her tests are the same thing! They are so insanely hard! She makes it impossible to pass her tests! I know all of the material, and study very hard, yet I do not pass her tests! Get ready to fail her tests if you take her class!

The worst teacher I've had at ISU because she is a very hard teacher/grader. Do not get me wrong, she is a nice teacher., but man! Her tests are impossible to pass! I've never gone out of my way to rate a teacher on this, but I just had to. You must be warned on how hard these tests are (there are 5 in her class!) I study so hard for her tests!!!!!

Jodi kept Com 111 entertaining. She is bubbly, and makes the class easy to stay engaged. The exams are challenging because they are application based, but she provides numerous resources to help prepare. She really cares about her students doing well.

Jodi is a great teacher. Her COM 160 class is pretty cool. You will need to go to each class and just listen. I never took notes and I passed with an A. You watch a lot of movies and overall its a low stress easy A class.

So not knowing how to calculate your grade in a 1000 point class does not make Jodi a lazy teacher, it makes you a lazy student. Take this class, make an effort, you'll be fine. I invited her to an extracurricular event I was hosting and not only did she show up, she sat front and center and insisted on paying the cover to support.
